The most waited film ‘Businessman’ has seen light shaking entire South India with huge publicity and releasing in historical number of 1600 theatres and 2000 plus screens. Now let us see what national media and other popular News Dailies in English say about this film.
Deccan Chronicle, “Businessman is a typical Mahesh Babu film all the way, evoking laughs with comic one-liners and subtle expressions. However, his efforts could go in vain thanks to a contrived and highly exaggerated plot”.
Rediff, the national portal says, “Telugu film Businessman can be an ebntertaining too much if you can avoid nitpicking. After Pokiri, Puri Jagannadh and Mahesh Babu strike back with Businessman. In fact the combo roars and will do well at the box office too. If you can watch Businessman for Mahesh Babu and its entertainment value without analyzing it, it's a good Sankranthi treat, especially for Mahesh's fans!”
Times Of India says, “Businessman is not as good as Dhookudu. Nevertheless, it has all the masala to entertain the masses, especially Mahesh fans. Tight narration and punching dialogues may make this movie a rage. Unlike most of Puri’s flicks, there is no separate comedy track or no comedy stars (Dhookudu’s success was largely because of the comedy). But, Mahesh fills the gap. He proves his versatility as an actor”.
The Hindu says, “The Businessman has a mix of action, image, dialogue and montage but what makes it entertaining is that all the above quantities are inextricably bound and linked together at every level with an admirably tight script. It is a regular story but structurally, technically and content wise, the director makes no mistakes. He puts the passion of Neninthe, entertainment of Dhookudu and structure of Pokiri to churn out a story that really means business”.
So, on a whole, the media of all forms state that ‘Businessman’ is not great and at the same time not bad.
