Tamil Movies @ Massive Attack On Tollywood

First half of 2012 was distasteful for Tamil flicks that are getting dubbed in Telugu. While producers have brought some costly flicks at cheaper costs, these dubbed entertainers have failed to woo Telugu audiences.
Equations have changed in Tollywood this year for the Tamil movies that are aimed to give a tough fight to our biggies. Star treats like Snehitudu, Eka Veera and 3, failed at BO miserably without even collecting their investment for dubbing. But some Telugu producers who are eager to beat the original films and earn more bucks than the local cinema are buying Tamil films at higher costs now. The second half of this year is going to witness big budgeted movies of star heroes like Rajnikanth, Kamal Hasan, Surya, Karthi, Ajith and Vikram.  
List of movies that are ready to attack Tollywood Sincludes Viswaroopam, Kochaidayan, Maatran, Sakuni. Unlike last year, Tamil movies may not get enough theatres this year due to the overcrowding of Telugu super stars films. We have Mahesh, Ramcharan, NTR, Allu Arjun, Nagarjuna aiming the second half of 2012!

Surya-Karthi @ focus on Telugu Market!!

Tamil Star Surya and his brother Karthi are gearing up for a planned and long term assault on the Telugu market. Having tasted good success in Andhra Pradesh, the brothers have now decided to take things more seriously and establish a solid market for themselves here. They have got themselves a huge flat in Madhapur and that will serve as their base in Hyderabad. The brothers are scouting around for dedicated dedicated staff to manage their PR and logistics. This setup will manage and work towards enhancing the market of Surya and Karthi.
Surya is already asking for Telugu dubbing rights as part of his compensation for all new movies and Karthi speaks excellent Telugu, almost like a native person. Industry veterans say that Surya and Karthi have the potential to create a big market, on par with any big Telugu hero, here with the kind of dedication and planning they are showing. Expect to see a dubbed version of every Tamil film belonging to these brothers and a couple of straight releases too. The question remains. When will our stars capture foreign markets in a similar way?

Tamil film @ Release Sets New Record!!

This month of February will be remarkable one in the History of Tamil cinema. Within the 3 weeks of this month a total of 13 films has been released setting a new record.
Usually Tamil films don't get released close-to-close says trade analysts. But this is an unexpected and welcomed change in Tamil cinema.
The reason is that Top actors like Rajinikanth, Kamalhassan, Ajith, Vijay, Surya, Vikram, Dhanush, Simbu, Karthi's films are lined up to release only on festival seasons. So all other films are hitting the silver screen in a rapid way.
With this kind of releases producers are also likely to have good buisness adds film circles.

4 Cross-Swords @ with Suriya in Maatran!!

Suriya has four villains in his upcoming venture Maatran directed by K.V.Anand.
Kajal Agarwal is pairing opposite Suriya in this K.V.Anand’s flick produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram under AGS Entertainments. The four cross-swords are Suriya himself and the other three are Milind Soman bad man of Pachaikili Muthucharam, Daniel of Vettaiyadu Vilayadu and Veera was part of Nadunisi Naaygal, all the three are Gautham Menon’s baddies, which shows Suriya close relationship with the former.
Suriya after he was impressed with their action in Gautham’s films have roped them to play his cross-swords in Maatran, which showcases Suriya in a dual role one is the hero and the other as antagonist. Maatran is slated to release in summer vacation.

Clash Between @ Vikram vs Surya!!

Two of the superstars of Tamil film industry are ready to clash on small-screen. The duo, who was seen together in award winning film Pithamagan, will be in the war of TRPs in the coming months. Yes, Vikram and Surya, the two actors known for varieties, will be hosting television game shows soon.
It is well-known that Surya is making his small-screen debut with Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi, the Tamil version of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Now, a popular channel has approached Vikram to host a similar kind of game show, which tests participant's general knowledge.
It is reported that Vikram, who is fully busy with his films, is keen to take up the project but the actor is not sure whether he can allot the required number of dates for the show and devote himself for the TV program.

Surya or Karthi @ for Alagu Raja!!

Studio green productions by Gnanavel Raja known for there movies such as Jil nu oru kadhal, Paruthiveeran, Paiya is again back in action with the title Alagu Raja .Sources close to the banner reveals that the tiltle has a mass appeal and has been registered by Studio green.
The production house has registered the title and the question is that the tiltle is registered for Surya's upcoming flick or it is Karthi 's upcoming flick. Both the films are under production and the guess is that it belongs to whom. So let us wait and see who grabs the tile Alagu Raja.

Sonam Kapoor @ in Suriya's 3D film?

Suriya, who is busy with K.V.Anand’s Maatraan, has recently confirmed his next project, which is a 3D film directed by Venkat Prabhu. The director is keen to have Sonam Kapoor in the female lead.
Venkat Prabhu, after Ajith’s Mankatha was success signed his next film with Suriya in the lead. An insider says, “Director is eager to rope in Sonam Kapoor for the female lead, as she suits the role better.” He further added, “Prabhu likes, her girl to next door looks and her action as well, any ways he has to discuss about it with Suriya.”
K.E.Gnanavelraja is producing Suriya and Venkat Prabhu’s 3D flick under his Studio Green banner. This untitled film has cinematography by Sakthi Saravanan and music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Surya-KV Anand off to US!

Surya likes to sport different looks in his every film. For an instance, he thrilled his fans with monk's avatar named Bodhi Dharman in his recently released film 7aam Arivu, which got a lot of appreciation. When KV Anand's announced his project with the Ghajini star, he successfully managed to attract the audience by claiming that the actor would have five different getups in the upcoming Tamil film for which now they have left to the US.
If reports are to be believed, Surya and KV Anand flew to the US to get an expert advice on the actor's look. They will be spending a week to finalize his avatars. It is also said that they are planning to meet some of the big make-up artistes of Hollywood and signing one for their movie. The makers of the film are expected to talk announce about it once they return from the trip. However, Maatraan also features Kajal Aggarwal, and Sachin Khedekar in the important roles.
The film produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram on the banner AGS Entertainment. It is expected to hit the screens next summer.

Hansika to Play @ with Suriya in ‘Singam 2’!

Hansika is on Cloud Nine now! Reason is that the bubbly actress is been roped in for director Hari’s next film ‘Singam 2’, in which she will be playing the love interest of Suriya, who she always admired and wanted to act with!
The voluptuous star was elated and said, “I was excited when the offer came my way and I could not resist, and said ‘Yes’ immediately. Suriya is one of my big actors who I admire a lot for his acting skills and dedication. I feel am very lucky to work with Suriya in my next, and who will not accept director Hari’s film?”
‘Singam 2’ is the sequel of hit film ‘Singam’ directed by the same director and same hero playing the lead. Anushka, who played the female lead in the film, is again playing the main female lead in the sequel too. Hansika is playing the second female lead. The film’s shoot is expected to start once Suriya completes ‘Maatran’ with K V Anand.

KV Anand is working hard to make his fourth venture Maatran a bigger one. The film is said to be science fiction with pump action thrills and actions.
Now the director has planned to make it bigger by roping in one of the legendary and Top most Visual effects from Hollywood. Stan Winston Studios are the one who worked for the epic films like Avatar, Jurassic Park series, Terminator Series, Aliens, Predator, End of Days, Iron Man, War of the Worlds and many more high budget movies of Hollywood.
But they left their mark in Tamil film industry with recent Superstar's blockbuster Enthiran the Robot. Now KV Anand has brought back the team for Surya's Maatran.
This is the first time that KV Anand has been doing a film based on Visual Effects and he wanted the best and as a former assitant of director Shankar surely he would make him proud adds sources.
But the name of Stan Winston Studios and Legacy Fx are known to be the same but they are split-ted into two banners recently.

Surya's Maatran @ Ramoji Film City!!

KV Anand is one of the finest directors who can captivate the viewers with his narrative style.
Maatran will be a double dose from the director adds trade circles.
The film which is shaping well has neared to 70 percentage of its stage. Surya will be portraying different avatars which is sure to surprise the audience says sources.
Recently some stunning stunt sequences where canned at the outskirts of Chennai with huge sets ereceted.
Now the Maatran team will be moving to Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad for a week to shoot some important sequences.
he film is expected for a 2012 mid year release.

Hansika @ to pair Opposite Surya

Hansika Motwani Bagging a role opposite Surya Anushka Shetty movie, to be directed by Hari. The film though not a sequel of Singham, the team of Singham has been retained for this film too.
After considering several names including Sonam Kapoor to fill the glam part for the sequel to his earlier blockbuster Singham with Surya again, Hari was convinced that Hansika would fit the bill perfectly.
Hansika had been part of many multi starrer movies off late. Except Mapillai and Engeyum Kadhal her film have been a multi starrer. Be it Velayudham, Vettai Mannan with Simbu, solo heroine movie Oru Kal Oru Kannadi with Udhayanidhi Stalin directed by Rajesh which is gearing for release.
This film will have Santhanam for comedy relief instead of Vivek. Director Hari had earlier informed that they are on the look out for the second heroine for the film apart from Anushka. Now it is confirmed to be Hansika.

Surya's @ Maatran to release in June!!

Surya is busy completing the shooting for Maatran. The movie brings together director KV Anand, music composer Harris Jayaraj and Surya after the stupendous success in Ayan.

The movie was shot in Russia, European Countries besides various parts of Tamilnadu. Kajal Agarwal shares the screen space with Surya for the first time.

The movie produced by AGS Entertainment will also feature Vivek. Sources say Maatran will be completed soon and would be released this June.

Surya @ Set to rock with director Hari!!

Finally it is confirmed. Director Hari will start his next with Surya and not Vishal as reported in few sections of the press.
Speaking about the film, Hari says, ' It will mark a new approach to making a commercial movie. We are trying something new, which I can’t share now.
The movie will have two heroines. Anushka has been finalised for one role and search is on for the other,' he said.
Buzz is that the movie would be an action-packed entertainer and the script is all completed. Once Surya completes Maatran, the film will go to floors.

'Businessman' @ Remake With Suriya?

‘Businessman’ Telugu distribution rights in Tamilnadu were sold to Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green. The rights include distribution of Telugu version as well as remake of the film. Well, we may wonder what he will do with remake rights when the film is releasing in big way with dubbed version itself.

But no one knows if the Tamil version is releasing. It may happen only when it becomes a block buster super hit in Telugu.

Mahesh Babu has huge following in AP and hence it is sure that he brings openings and huge successive collections here. But what is the guarantee that he can do that in Tamilnadu? Hence the makers also thought lately that it would be a wise thing to sell remake rights and make considerably big money than merely depending on dubbing version. Hence it was sold to G Raja.

Gnanavel Raja is planning to cast either Surya or Karthi in Tamil remake it seems. So, these developments say that there may not be Tamil release of Businessman in big way. Even though it happens, it will be done in C grade level like Mahesh Babu’s previous films did in Tamilnadu.

When remake thing is ‘on’, Gnanavel Raja cannot let Tamil dubbed version see light in Tamilnadu, even if the film hits in Telugu.

And Malayalam need not be counted here, as that’s not a big business point for Businessman.

Ravi Teja-Suriya multistarrer happening

We have told earlier that Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja and Singham Suriya are going to share screen space in a multistarrer film which is being directed by Mankatha fame Venkat Prabhu. The film is a bi-lingual in Telugu and Tamil languages. Recently, Ravi Teja’s Vikramarkudu was remade as Siruthai with Karthi in the lead role. Now, it looks like the actor will be introduced in grand manner to Kollywood with this film.

Ravi Teja liked the script narrated by Venkat Prabhu and instantly gave his nod, claims a close aide of the actor. The film will go onto the sets only after Suriya completes Maatran and Ravi Teja is done with Nippu. Along with this film, the actor will simultaneously start shooting for Puri Jagannadh’s film as well.
Earlier, Ravi Teja has featured in Telugu version (Shambho Shiva Shambo) of Tamil film Naadodigal.

Surya's popularity in Kerala

Surya who recently visited Kerala as a special guest for the Kerala State Awards witnessed a massive crowd gathering there. The crowd went crazy when Surya was called upon the stage. His recent release 7am Arivu seems to have done a healthy buisness in Kerala.

Also the movie has drawn him a huge fan following says trade circles.

Star wars @ Tea - Coffee!!

Almost every notable brand is signing in some or the other cinema star to promote their products. The lesser known brands too are spending some money on the 'reachable' actors. When every brand has a famous cinema star to promote their product, it is obvious for the stars to compete with each other.

In the recent times, an interesting war is going on between the stars in the name of Tea, coffee products. Karthi and Kajal are signed in by Bru instant coffee. Their close competitor Nescafe Sunrise signed a deal with Suriya and Jyothika. Interestingly Suriya and Karthi are brothers, but they locked horns for this coffee war.
Brooke Bond 3 Roses tea has Vikram and Trisha as the brand ambassadors. So who will rope in Anushka and Ajith? That may not be too far away, if not Anushka and Ajith, it would be Simbu and Shruti, what say!
