Bollywood actor, Sonam Kapoor claims that she and Abhishek Bachchan play the lead of the forthcoming multi-starrer flick, ‘Players’. The film is an action packed thriller directed by duo Abbas-Mustan that also stars sultry actor, Bipasha Basu, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bobby Deol. However, Sonam says she has always played the lead role in her several multi-starrer movies.
The 26-year old actor reveals, ‘The story of film, ‘Thank You’ revolved around me and Akshay. Even in ‘Aisha’, I played the lead role. In ‘Delhi 6’, too Abhishek and I played the lead roles and now in ‘Players’ also we both will be playing the lead. But at same time one should not forget that even the other supporting actors plays a crucial role in the film who helps to make the film a better product’.
Sonam is happy after winning several accolades for sexier look she donned in the upcoming movie, ‘Players’. The multi-starrer film is scheduled to release by 6 January.

Prince Mahesh Babu’s Businessman is gearing up for a massive release on January 11th 2012 and the makers are looking at garnering record openings for the film. The film will see a release in maximum number of theaters both in Andhra Pradesh as well as in overseas territories to cash in on the craze surrounding this project. Mahesh Babu is fresh from the blockbuster success of Dookudu and there is a tremendous buzz surrounding this film as a result.
The movie has been produced by R.R.Movie Makers and they are distributing the film in most parts of Andhra Pradesh except in few areas like East and West Godavari as well as Vijayawada.
Businessman has Mahesh Babu and Kajal in the lead roles and Puri Jagan is the director. Music has been composed by Thaman and some of the tracks have already become chartbusters. The film is set in Mumbai with a Mafia backdrop.
After a brief hiatus from shooting, it’s work as usual for Ram Charan Tej. He’s going to join the team of his upcoming film Rachcha from January 5 onwards for a new schedule. Tamannaah, who’s playing the lead role in the film, is currently shooting for Prabhas’ Rebel in Bangkok. She’ll join the Rachcha’s team as soon as she wraps the Bangkok schedule. Few weeks ago, Rachcha was shot in Talakona forest, near Tirupati and a bamboo forest in Anji, China.
Ajmal Ameer is playing the villain’s role in the film. Sampath Nandi is directing the film and NV Prasad and Paras Jain are producing the film on Mega Supergood Films banner. Mani Sharma is composing the music. The film is expected to hit the screens in March.

Music has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the audio album will be out for Sankranthi. Sana Khan and Kriti Kharbandha are the female leads in this project.
D.S.Rao is the producer of this film and Ani is the director. The movie is expected to come out towards the end of January.
One of the most talked about movies of the season is ‘Businessman’ and the reason for that is, it brings back the crazy combo of Mahesh Babu with director Puri Jagannadh. The fact about the film made in a record time and the songs creating a sensation are creating a lot of impact on the trade circles.
Now, it is heard that Puri has bagged a jackpot from this project. Sources say his remuneration is Rs 7 crores even if the film flops. A source close to the unit revealed “When we say flop, the openings will come at any cost and it will strike for about 3-4 days from release. Secondly, the number of theatres is high.”
They add “So, even if film flops the film would have made a decent collection. Now, it is hard to imagine what would be Puri’s package if the film scores a hit. That’s why he celebrated a pre-success party recently in Hyderabad inviting his close friends and noted stars from the Tollywood fraternity.”

News is that Pawan has signed a new project and this one would be made in a 3D format. The storyline is about three bachelors and how they have a new roommate in the form of a lion.
Sources say this looks to be taken from the film 'The Hangover'. The Telugu version would be directed by Raju Sundaram and it is heard that Pawan has ensured the producers buy this script from Kollywood director SJ Suryah for a price of Rs 1.5 crores. For now, nothing official has been announced so let us wait and see.

It was predicted in this column last week that 'Don 2' would not just comfortably cross the 100 crore mark, it would end up doing so in two weeks flat. Well, if the progress that this Shahrukh Khan starrer has shown over the weekdays as well as the second weekend is any indication, the feat is now pretty much round the corner as a result of which a HIT tag is already on with chances of a SUPERHIT on the anvil.
In just the Hindi version, 'Don 2' has netted over 71 crores which is a huge total by all means, especially if one considers the negativity that was surrounding Shahrukh Khan and as a result of which the opening Friday was definitely impacted. However as is always the case with good movies, critic reviews didn't harm 'Don 2', what with good word of mouth coming into play and allowing the film to stay very stable right through the weekdays as well. Though detractors just hoped that there may be a crash round the corner, none of that happened as the film marched towards a healthy total.
By end of first week even the staunchest of anti-SRK brigade had to give up and the talks started around 'how 'Don 2' should have done more than it eventually did'. Now such expectations are always subjective and if one looks at this film as a standalone product, it has pretty much managed the kind of business that it would have hoped for during the conceptualisation phase itself.
Not quite a quintessential Shahrukh Khan affair that would have got family audience in hordes to see him do all the 'naach gaana' and woo his heroines, 'Don 2' was always meant to be a multiplex centric film and it is credible that it has not just done quite well there but also ended up doing decent business at the single screens as well. With the second weekend getting fantastic collections of over 18 crores, the film has now already hit the 90 crore mark and should end up touching 100 crore in two weeks flat.
Since 'Players' is the only new major release till 'Agneepath' arrives on 26th January, both these action thrillers would make the best use of screen space made available for them in the multiplexes for weeks at stretch.

However when this news was taken to show’s host Salman, he immediately shunned the aspect of Hrithik coming on show and chose Imran.
Citing the fact that the show’s co-host Sanjay Dutt also is leading ‘Agneepath’ it would have been befitting to see the team of ‘Agneepath’ promote the flick but Salman didn’t want Hrithik to get the same advantage. The new stills were released to press as they have been showing old pics of Pawan Kalyan from other movies when they speak about Gabbar Singh.
Harish Shankar promises that the first look of Gabbar Singh will be great and unexpected one. Gabbar Singh is slated for summer release and the film’s first look maybe out in March. Music director Thaman, who is a good friend of Harish, predicted Gabbar Singh to be a blockbuster.

The cine folks say "If 'Dammu's teaser can be shown with 'Businessman' it would be a great combo. Of course, there is always the star rivalry and all that but it would be interesting. Previously, something like that was planned for the teaser of 'Businessman' also but for some reason that didn't happen."
For now, it is heard that 'Dammu' will commence a fresh schedule from January 6th and this would take place at the Annapurna Studios. Sources say a song and fight sequence would be canned as part of this. The film is directed by Boyapati Sreenu and produced by Alexander Vallabha.

Tollywood is expecting 2012 to be a better year for big films as 2011 proved disastrous for big budget films. Most of the top rated heroes, except for Mahesh and Prabhas tasted flops in 2011. But one hero who had bitten dust pretty badly is none other than Siddharth.
Sid had three releases in 2011 and all the three looked promising prior to the release. But unfortunately none of the films really set the box office on fire. Anaganaga O Dheerudu, which was released for last Pongal was amongst the biggest flops of the year.
180 too ended up as a disaster. This was a dual disappointment for the actor as it was released in Tamil too. Despite all the hungama done by Dil Raju, Oh My Friend's final result was disappointing. It did average business in Overseas and Hyderabad, but was a major dud in other areas. With three big flops to his credit, Siddharth is the flop hero of 2011. Among the superstar league, Pawan Kalyan leads the table with two disasters up his sleeve.
Looks like Pawan Kalyan has only one lifeline to fall back on during the crisis time. Despite many star directors willing to work with Pawan Kalyan, the superstar is not opening his doors to most of them. He has been a good friend to Trivikram Srinivas and he is the only one who is accessible to Power star at anytime.
Incidentally, Trivikram is the only director to give a hit to Pawan Kalyan in the last ten years. As per the buzz, Neelima Tirumalasetty of Panjaa fame is likely to produce this film. Pawan Kalyan cancelled all his prior commitments except for Gabbar Singh after the debacle of Panjaa. Now Trivikram steps into the rescue of Power star with Sarada. However, sources close to mega camp deny any such development!

RR Movie Makers seems to have taken the Businessman release as a prestigious affair. The movie is releasing in around 100 theatres in Hyderabad, more than 70 theatres in Uttarandhra which itself is an all-time record. No doubt the release numbers will be striking by the time the official figures come out – watch out for those! Businessman movie is currently undergoing DTX Mixing and is expected to complete in a day or two. It was also reported that Superstar Mahesh watched Businessman movie yesterday night at Prasad Labs and was happy with the outcome of the action episodes.
