Vijay's Nanban @ released Tax free!!
It is the first film to get the benefit under a new scheme introduced by the Jayalalithaa government.
The state government had constituted a panel comprising of 22 personalities drawn from various wings of the film industry, to recommend films eligible for entertainment tax exemption.
Nanban is directed by S Shankar with Music by Harris Jayaraj.

It is heard that Pawan is putting special focus in the fights and stunts department and recently he took part in some deadly fight sequences under the supervision of fight masters Ram-Laxman. Unit members reveal that Pawan is giving full attention to this department and wants it to be highly charged.
Though the film is the remake of the Bollywood blockbuster 'Dabangg' it is heard that the script has been tweaked enough to suit the nativity of Tollywood audience. This is directed by Harish Shankar and Pawan is pairing up with the seductive beauty Shruti Hassan.

Story
The film is about two brothers Thirumurthi(Madhavan) and Gurumurthi(Arya) who share a great bond right from childhood with a police family background in Thoothukudi. While Thiru is a innocent boy who grows up in the same way whereas Guru is the exact opposite, He is bold and ready to clash with anyone that comes in his brother's way. They grow up in the same manner till the later days too.
On the other side it is Vasanthi(Sameera Reddy) and Jayanthi(Amala Paul) who are born as sisters who remains naughty at all times. At one point these two brothers and sisters clash each other at funny circumstances and love blossoms between them.
There enters the Villian Ashutosh Rana and his gang who threatens the people of thoothukudi in every manner. At this point Thiru was given the responsibility to become the next Police officer on the lines of his father and grandfather. When the whole police department which includes Naseer and Thambi Ramaiah in special roles who are expecting Thiru to be a strict and bold person, they soon find out that he is fearful and calm natured.
Thirumurthi ties knot with Vasanthi at one point but troubles follow them so, Arya comes with a plan to switch sides without anyone's notice. Soon the Villian group finds out this and smashes Guru at one stage. Now it is upto Thiru whether to become strong or stay weak which forms the rest of the climax.
Performance
Lingusamy has yet once again proved that he is a director who can give a high action oriented film with full of Commercial values like his earlier ventures, especially adding a Mass scene of Ajith's Mankatha at the right place. Madhavan as the innocent brother and police officer steals the show with his screen presence with Sameera Reddy, whereas Arya as the angry young man gives an high action entertainment to the audience. Amala Paul with her cute looks and romance turns up your body heat.
Also Naseer and Thambi Ramaiah has did their roles with perfection. Ashutosh Rana and Muthukumar the one who was seen as the elder brother of Nani in Veppam remains as the same gangsters of action films. Raja Sundaram appears in a cameo role and does his part well.

Nirav Shah has scored big time with his Cinematography with rich visuals remains as the backbone of the film's narration. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja has been a highlight with rocking Bgms all over. While Editing by Antony gives a racy and crisp feel to the viewers.
Even though the film carries 5 songs, the film maintains the tempo till the end.
Analysis
Madhavan's comeback will be Vettai for sure. The charming actor who was missing in Tamil cinema's for a long period of time is back with a bang. Arya as the brother of Madhavan suits the character without any flaws and shares equal importance. Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul fill glamour to this high end action film.

Mahesh has breathed life into the character created by Puri Jagan and the crowds are lapping it up. This is a remarkable feat considering the extremely rapid pace at which the movie was made. The production team participated in the shoot for 74 working days for the movie. Puri Jagan has directed this flick and Kajal Aggarwal is the heroine.
Gossip: Venkatesh @ Spoofs Mahesh in Bodyguard?
Coming back to the point, it’s the very Poovai poovai track – that had sizzling hot Parvati Melton shaking her booty and taking the viewers by storm in Mahesh Babu’s supr-hit Dookudu – for which Venkatesh did the spoof.
This isn’t it! It’s also learnt that the versatile hero draped a langa-jacket to do the hilarious act. Sources added that the spoof came out really well and Venky did a commendable job with his comic sense and natural performance. Mahesh Babu's dialogue delivery and stunning performances are some special mentioning when it comes to DOOKUDU. A joke went viral about the same saying that Brahmanadam and MS Narayana are the heroes of the film, while Mahesh is just an 'interval bang'. Thanks to Sreenu Vaitla for giving such an incredible roles to star comedians. However, this is not digested by fans and other critics of the industry. In a fitting reply to it, Mahesh showed his true potentinal as a solo-entertainer in BUSINESSMAN. There are no comedians or specialized comedy tracks to tickle the audiences in the flick.
Only Mahesh and his dialogue deliveries made the trick in making audience glue to their seats. Looks like our handsome hero has proved that all such jokes are trash and he alone can deliver something 'stunning'. So, no more jokes!

Story:
Mumbai city commissioner Ajay Bharadwaj (Nasser) announces in a Pressmeet that mafia dons are wiped out from the map of Mumbai. He also states that he would break the leg if any don steps in Mumbai.Instantly Surya (Mahesh Babu) steps in Mumbai. His friend (Brahmaji) takes him to his room in slum. Surya asks him to quit job and join him as an assistant to do his proposed crime business. He also says that he is in Mumbai to make it piss.
How he emerges as a don falls rest of the story. He uses his brain and brawn to grow big in Mumbai. He plays with system and preys on politicians to grow his business. On parallel line he loves Chitra (Kajal), the daughter of commissioner. Story wise, it's simple but the narration beauty is ample and dialogues tremble the senses of audience. Rest should be watched on screen.
Performances:
Mahesh Babu is all over the film. He charms with his style, scares with his intensity and strikes with his looks. His dialogue delivery is another high asset to the film.
Kajal Agarwal does her bit as required. She provides glamour where required and sheds tears when wanted. As such, her characterisation is not that strong but she provides some visual relief.
Prakash Raj was not used to his potential. In fact, his arrival comes rather late in the film and before he can pick up he is packed up. But those little moments he was there he made his presence felt.
Nasser was natural. His scenes with Mahesh Babu were effective and both shared a good chemistry. It is inspiring to see Nasser maintaining strong biceps even at this age.
Sayaji Shinde was standard. Brahmaji was usual. Dharmavarapu was contained. The girl doing the role of Kajal’s friend was funny. Shweta Bharadwaj sizzled in her item song. The others didn’t have much scope.

In one line, the story is about the emergence of a don by a common man. However, there is a fine line between narrating a story with conviction and clubbing it with cinematic liberties.
The liberties taken were too high and this led to an artificial feel among the audience. Films like ‘Nayakudu’ ‘Dhalapathi’ ‘Saamrajyam’ were classier in portraying such tales. Secondly, Mahesh is seen giving few lines on how one should be selfish.
Well, the audience may like what he is speaking because it is the hard truth but acceptance levels will differ. Moreover, for someone like Mahesh and his charisma, such lines are quite conflicting to his image. The entire film runs purely on two things- Mahesh Babu’s performance and Puri’s dialogue power.
