Don 2 First Day Collections @ 15 Crores
Shah Rukh Khan's Don 2 collected around Rs 15 crore on its release on Friday, as analysts predicted a strong Christmas weekend will help Bollywood close an unusually successful year with yet another big hit.
Trends till 8 pm suggested net collections of the film to be around Rs 14-15 crore, said Sanjeev Lamba, chief executive officer at Reliance Entertainment. The collections are lower than first day collections of recent Bollywood hits, which Lamba attributed to a working Friday.
"Average occupancy across shows was 85-90%, said Gautam Dutta, chief operating officer, PVR Cinemas. "A good thing is that bulk bookings by corporates for the next two days are also very high," he said. The film had a significant opening overseas too. In the UAE, it grossed $360,000, which is more than Khan's My Name is Khan which had collected $240,000 on the first day.
In the UK, the movie, which opened on Wednesday with limited shows, and on Thursday has raked in £202,000. The sequel to Don (2006), is jointly produced by Reliance Entertainment, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment and Khan. It has been released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The film is being released in close to 3,000 screens across India, including 550 3D screens, Utpal Acharya, head of distribution and acquisition at Reliance Entertainment, said.
Suniel Wadhwa, independent distributor and former head of distribution at UTV Motion Pictures, said he expected Don 2 to collect nothing less than Rs 35 crore from the overseas market.
Acccording to trade sources, Reliance Entertainment is spending Rs 25 crore on print and publicity of the film. Nearly Rs 5 crore is being spent on TV advertising, Rs 2.5 crore on advertising in the print media, about Rs 1 crore on outdoor publicity and Rs 12-13 crore on prints and digital work of the film.

Mahesh-Namrata's Bollywood Studio Plans!!
One of the most talked about celebrity couples in the Tollywood circuit is Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar. Recently, it was heard that the couple was all set to expand their business. They were looking at coming up with setting a production house in Mumbai.
Sources say Mahesh-Namrata were keen on venturing into Bollywood by setting up a production firm. It is heard that they were looking remaking the blockbuster hit ‘Dookudu’ with star Salman Khan in the lead. However, the update is that the project has collapsed.
Buzz is that the writer of the film happens to be a good friend of Salman and since he was not given the due recognition by the couple, grapevine is that he had advised Sallu not to get into the project. Buzz is that the credit for ‘Dookudu’ success was being given only to the director and this didn’t work well with the writer.

Review @ DON 2 - A must watch for action buffs!!
Movie : DON 2
Story:
Don (Shah Rukh Khan) has plans to looting the Euro currency plate from a high security vault. He makes plans after plans to hit bulls eye and amidst meets his old foes Roma (Priyanka Chopra) who plays a cop and her mission is to disturb Don’s plans; and Vardhan (Boman Irani) who is looking at side lining Don. He’s still being chased by the police, and this time not of 11 countries, but 101 countries. What happens next is the climax, which is better, undisclosed with the question that will Farhan make Don 3.
Analysis:
Shah Rukh plays a baddie after a long span in his career and adds charisma to Don. But the actual hero of the film is Farhan Akhtar who seems absolutely sure of what he is looking at. He makes the actors perform, the technicalities sound and has put soul into the film. Don that was the remake of the Amitabh Bachchan starrer received mixed reviews as people could not get over Big B as the Don, but Don 2, is different and shuts all of them up who compared Don with the Big B starrer.
Performances:
Shah Rukh is at his best as the arrogant, rude and witty Don. He’s back and how! Shows that he is the original king! Priyanka Chopra looks astonishing and acts well. She adds lots of glamour to the film and that’s not all, she is a great actor too. Boman Irani is charming and you will love to hate him at the same time. He does a wonderful job. Lara Dutta and Kunal Kapoor are adequate. The rest of the supporting cast is good too.
Technicalities:
The film’s music is not very great, but SEL do a decent job. Background score makes the thrilling sequences all the more interesting. The action stunts picturized should be commended with some must-watch breath-taking sequences. Editing is crisp but the romantic angle added could be explored more for commercial reasons. Farhan Akhtar’s direction is great, as already said.
Highlights
Shahrukh simply rocks in his bad boy act and carries off the character of Don with style. The one-liners, irreverent attitude, the swagger work in his favor. Farhan’s script ensures he get to mouth plenty of catchy one-liners. He looks completely natural whether it’s fighting with Vardhan or flirting with Roma. The rest of cast pitch in with creditable supporting performances esp., from Boman Irani, Priyanka, Lara Dutta and Nawwab Shah. The action sequences, of which there are many across the film, are extremely well- executed and the car-chase sequence on the streets of Berlin is the highlight. The hand-to-hand fight scenes look very realistic and pack a punch. The cinematography by Jason West captures Berlin in its steely blue tones while Asia is shot in warm natural colors.
Rating : 3.5/5
Starring: Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta and others
Director : Farhan Akhta
Producer : Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani
Music Director : Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani, Loy Mendonsa
Release date: 23 December 2011

Drawbacks
There is not much to write about here. People who go in expecting the quota of five songs might be disappointed since there is only song on screen. Apart from that, the film could have cut down the slightly lengthy second half but then again it does not bore you at any point.
Final Word: A must watch for action buffs.

Prabhas on 'Double Duty'!
Choreographer turned Actor turned Director Raghava Lawrence might have been lucky for many heroes but the case with prabhas is altogether different. Ever since the project of ‘Rebel’ is launched in their combination, nothing went off cool and by now audiences have definitely started to forget the romantic, soft, lover boy image garnered by prabhas with ‘Darling’ and ‘Mr. Perfect’ while ‘Rebel’ stood unprogressive on the sets. In the mean time, prabhas has well judged his position in market and decided to do ‘Vaaradhi’ in parallel in the direction of debutant Koratala Shiva.
prabhas is currently on double duty doing these two flicks at one go as he wanted both to release with in the first half of 2012. While ‘Rebel’ has Tamanna and Deeksha Seth as heroines, ‘Vaaradhi’ has Anuska and Richa Ganagopadhyay. Let us see, how great prabhas comes out with these releases.

Public Talk @ Thaman's Music!!!
The world of music is often challenging given the number of talented musicians and the need to come up with something creative at all times. And things get even more challenging if it is the film industry and films which involve big heroes. But one man has taken up the challenge and he is proving his mettle.
He is none other than S S Thaman and he is now being called ‘Yes Yes’ Thaman for the kind of success he is scoring with his tunes. The public talk is “Most of the time, the first feel of Thaman’s music gets negative feedback but in the second hearing, his real power comes out.”
They add “But in the case of ‘Businessman’ the story is different. From the first time, the songs are superb in first listening itself. It will be a blockbuster audio if the film hits.” For now, two tracks have got into the chartbuster list and with the audio releasing into the market, let us see wait and see how Thaman scores this time.

Jr NTR @ Dookudu Condition For Vytla!!!
It is a common thing to see that when a film scores a hit, a dozen films come out in the same pattern. Despite flops, the herd mentality doesn't change. Now it appears that even a big hero like Jr NTR is no exception.
Sources reveal that Junior has put a condition to director Srinu Vytla for their new project. He wants a script like 'Dookudu' and is more of a laughter riot.
Incidentally, Junior is keen on spreading his fan base beyond youth and mass audience hence the attempt. But there are those who say given NTR's strength in action films this looks a bit unusual. Let us see how this goes.

Committee @ Slaps Samantha and Tamanna!!!
If the Top league actors are of the opinion that they can easily walk-out of the projects whenever they intend to, then they are surely just inviting trouble. A-list heroines Samantha and Tamanna are best example to this case.
We are aware that producer Bellankonda Suresh filed a complaint against Samantha in Producers Council and Movie Artists Association (MAA) for violating the agreement. Samantha signed on the dotted line narrated by director Nadini Reddy ('Ala Modalaindi' fame). She took the advance amount in march from Bellankonda Suresh and assured that she will allot her call sheets in August and September for the film which has Siddharth in the lead. However, She now informed to the producer that she has decided to walk-out of the projects as the dates were already allotted to Mahesh's film 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu'."
The co-ordination committee comprising 10 members has given strong warning to Samantha for violating the agreement and asked the actress to stick to her word given to the producer, while signing the agreement.
"Samantha claimed that she has walked out of the project as lot of changes were being made to the script. But, the committee is not convinced with her version. And also stalling the film could affect the career of Director Nandini Reddy, as this is just her second film. We have ordered Samantha to allot fresh dates for Bellankonda Suresh's film early next year," said a member of the committee.
On the other hand, Tamanna landed herself in trouble by signing three films without having the dates to spare.
"Tamanna was asked to submit her call sheets diary to the committee. Now, the dates will be prioritised and will be allotted to films which are near to the completion. Racha, Endukante Premanta and Rebel with the order of the priority list. We have ordered her not to sign any new film, unless the shooting of these three films got wrapped up," adds the member.
So ladies, the next time you promise to do something for someone, regardless of how unimportant the person might be to you, DO IT.

Bezawada is cheap says Nagarjuna!!
Nagarjuna should have agreed to give his son Naga Chaitanya's dates to Ram Gopal Varma as he feels that he is indebted to the latter for Shiva. He might have believed that the director has still some juice left in him to pull off a hit with Chaitanya.
But Nagarjuna repents his decision for accepting RGV's proposal for Bejawada. The actor is terribly disappointed with the film turning out to be a disaster. He is not unhappy that the film is flop, but he feels cheated because the film looks cheap and right out of the trash can.
The quality of Bejawada was criticized by one and all. The film was made on a cheap budget and the standards were as good as crime episodes made for TV. Nag didn't expect such a cheap product with Ram Gopal Varma being one of the producers. However he says that Dhada and Bejawada experiences have taught Chaitanya few lessons and this should be helpful for him in future while taking up new projects.
