India skipper MS Dhoni on Sunday supported the Team Management's rotation policy saying one of the top three batsmen (Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir) were rested for each game because they are slow on the field.
"Taking all the three of them into the Playing X1 would affect our fielding in a big way. It's not just these three players, but there are quite a few others who are also slow. If you go to the details, there are only two or three good fielders in the side. Especially, the throwing and diving of the fielders need to be good. Fielding is one are where you could always score. It lifts the morale of the team and keeps the intensity," Dhoni said.
"These fielders are not bad but in Australia where you see big fields, they are slightly on the slower side. The opposition teams (Australia and Sri Lanka) would try to exploit them, whenever the ball goes to them. It's not similar to India, where you pick up the ball and throw it back after touching the boundary. Sometimes, you may end up pulling muscle or a hamstring," he added.

Team India captain MS Dhoni has been banned for the final Test against Australia due to a slow over rate during the third Test Match in Perth. India bowled 76 overs in 362 minutes in the only innings they bowled in at the WACA ground, Australia. Even after considering the allowances for taking all the the 10 wickets, interruptions like sight screen adjustments and injury timeouts, India were still short of the target by 2 overs.
Dhoni was fined 40% of his match fees and his teammates were fined for 20% each. This was India's second over-rate offence in the last 12 months.
As per the ICC code of conduct, The captains of Teams would be suspended for one match when found guilty of two over-rate offences within 12 months.
In Dhoni's absence, Virender Sehwag will captain the side in the fourth test at Adelaide. Wriddhiman Saha will replace Dhoni, is the reserve wicketkeeper on tour.
