100 Cr Investment On Mahesh?

Certain producers love few star heroes a lot. Like the way Ashiwni Dutt and KS Rama Rao love to work with Megastar Chiranjeevi always. At present, we have this banner '14 Reels Entertainment' who are coming up with their third movie for Superstar Mahesh. Publicly our hero too announced that he will do more films with them in coming days.

Reports have that '14 Reels' is now heading to invest 100 Crores on Mahesh for a single. They made Dookudu, 1-Nenokkadine and Aagadu with the numero uno star already, but haven't confirmed any immediate future project with him. After pooling around 70 Crores for '1', they have burnt hands as Sukumar's unique storyline failed to impress general audiences. And 'Aagadu' is also another high budgeted flick, but it looks like a money spinner at box office. Irrespective of these results, these producers want to go ahead for a 100 crore budget film with Mahesh, if at all director Shankar handles the mantle. After watching the trailer of 'Manoharudu', they have come to such a conclusion, say sources.

Investing 100 crore on Mahesh is easy because his brand-name pulls finances simply. What matters is recovery, and the kind of publicity and promotions needed to collect such a mammoth budget. Tollywood hasn't entered 100 Crore club in collections, and if stars like Mahesh wants to aim at it, they are welcome.

Few years back overseas was never an option for producers to make money.With the increased viewership and ease of executing the mass screenings in USA and Europe, today producers see Overseas as a critical chunk of overall collections.However from a shocking revelation from an overseas distributor, it was known that Tollywood overseas ship has sunk to an abysmal low.Even our so called super duper hits register nothing but a huge loss to the local distributors. "Except Dookudu and Gabbar Singh, none of the movie showed positive graphs.Racha, Dammu, Businessman, Bodyguard are bitter pills to local distributors.In 2012, Tollywood movies incurred a Net loss of 12 crores.Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh is the only solace for the sinking Tollywood overseas ship.It registered about 2 crores profit and still counting.Before Gabbar Singh, Mahesh's Dookudu was last movie to register some profit." said a disheartened overseas distributor to Behindreels executive. "Overseas market is too choosy about movies.Only the blockbusters are capable of pulling audience to theaters and reviews play a big role here.Any movie with average ratings will never show positive graph, majority here want nothing less than blockbuster.Movies with good entertainment quotient also fare well." he added. Thats the sad tale of Tollywood movie in overseas folks.

Mahesh @ SVSC Satellite Rights Fetches 8.5 Cr

Victory Venkatesh and Superstar Mahesh Babu's upcoming multi starrer movie 'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu'  is making news even before it release. Well the latest buzz says, satellite rights of this movie has been sold out to a popular TV channel for a whopping amount of 8.5 Cr. Producer Dil Raju must have already estimated this, as the movie has got stars like Venkatesh, Mahesh Babu and Samantha. Srikantha Addala is directing this family entertainer and Mickey.J.Meyer is composing the music. 'SVSC' is being produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. Recently released teaser trailer of this movie gathered tremendous response and increased hype on the movie.

Prince Mahesh Babu,Kajal Agarwal’s film under the direction of Sukumar finished its schedule at Saradhi Studios,Hyderabad.Film makers wrapped up the shooting by completing the shooting of some police station scenes.This signaled the end of the film’s first schedule. Devisri Prasad is scoring music while Ratnavel is the cinematographer and editing by Marthand K Venkatesh.Anil Sunkara, Ram Achanta and Gopichand Achanta are producing the film under 14 Reels Entertainments banner.

Big difference @ between Tollywood & Bollywood

Bollywood always have an edge over their South counterparts, when it comes to pre-release business, reach and range of the films.
For example, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar's recent film 'Rowdy Rathore' was made on a moderate budget of Rs. 45 crore. The Satellite rights of the film were sold for a massive Rs. 37 crore, Video rights for Rs. 7 crore and Music rights for Rs. 3 crore respectively. These figures clearly show that the film entered into profit zone without even selling its theatrical rights.
Coming to Tollywood, a Top Hero's film will be made on a budget of nearly Rs. 35-40 crores. While the Satellite rights fetch anywhere between Rs. 5-7 crore, the Music rights will be sold for Rs. 1-2 crore. These figures clearly show that nearly 80% of the production cost should be recovered through Satellite Rights and post release business in Tollywood.
Despite Mahesh Babu being the No.1 hero in Tollywood, the satellite rights of 'SVSC' were sold out for Rs 7 crore, which is also the highest amount paid for a Telugu film till date. On the other, Akshay Kumar is not a No.1 in Bollywood, but his films were making moolah. It's not Akshay's films alone, but all Top Heroes films in Bollywood fetch Rs. 30 to 40 crore through Satellite rights. The price of Satellite rights make a big difference in Tollywood & Bollywood. But still, Tollywood (3 films [Magadheera, Dookudu, Gabbar Singh] in Rs. 100 crore club(gross)) is giving a tough fight to Bollywood.

Mahesh @ Upset with losses Rumors

We all know that Businessman is a successful film which made a theatrical business of Rs. 40 crore. Add audio, video and satellite rights to that, the film has made more than fifty crore rupees. How can one call it a loss venture? How could a producer lose money on such a hugely successful film?
Rumors have been making rounds that RR Movie Makers lost money in Mahesh Babu's Businessman. This is due to the share taken by Puri and Mahesh Babu it seems! As per the agreement Mahesh or Puri would get the share in profits, which would be shared after the film completes it run in theaters. RR Movie Makers distributed the film in most of the areas besides producing it.
So they can't simply give away the share of Puri and Mahesh after first week. Five months after the release calling a successful film a loss venture is just baseless rumor. This is upsetting Mahesh fans as well as the star that stays in constant touch with fans and the day to day happenings.

Mahesh Babu is acting as a main lead in the movie under Sukamr direction has completed its fresh schedule in Saradhi Studios, Hyderabad. Police station episodes have been completed in this schedule and the unit is going to shoot its next schedule from last week of this month as Mahesh is contributing his dates for 'Seetamma Vakitlo Siremalle Chettu' from June 13. This movie is being produced by Anil Sunkara, Ram Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under 14 Reels Entertainments banner and Kajal Agarwal is acting as the female lead in the movie music is by Devi Sri Prasad. Ratnavel is the cinematographer and Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh. This movie is touted to be a romantic action entertainer which is expected to be released for Pongal 2013.

Top Producer Gets @ Mahesh, Prabhas on single stage

Okkadu was turning point in Mahesh Babu's career as was Varsham for Prabhas. M S Raju produced both these films. Now with M S Raju directing his son Sumanth Ashwin's maiden movie as hero - Tuneega Tuneega , the producer turned director has invited both Mahesh and Prabhas as the main guest for the movie's audio launch. But it remains to be seen whether these superstars would turn up at the audio launch ceremony considering their busy shooting schedules.
The film's music would be launched in Hyderabad on June 10th. Tuneega Tuneega is a romantic entertainer showcasing love in a new angle. Director MS Raju says that the movie proceeds like a distinctive entertainer, which is high on both entertainment and emotional quotient. He further adds that the script is heart touching and the film feel will be much like the mellifluous title.
As per the sources, Prabhas is keen in attending the function but his busy schedule with Rebel and Varadhi is giving no room for such events.It will be interesting to note whether our top heroes will find time to bless the budding star, son of the producer who gave them a terrific break.

Today, when he visited a popular TV channel, the show's anchor shocked him by giving a 'red rose' on live. Though Ram too got shocked, he maintained poise as he became quite habituated for all this stuff. After wrapping the show, the anchor tried to play on Ram that he is not reciprocating her anything after taking that rose.

The nominations for the prestigious South Indian International Movie Awards - 2012 have been announced recently. Guess, which film grabbed the highest nominations! It's Mahesh Babu's money spinner 'Dookudu'.

Dookudu @ Grabs 11 Nominations In South Awards

Mahesh Babu’s Dookudu grabbed a phenomenal 11 nominations in 10 categories at South Indian International Movie Awards-2012. The film, directed by Srinu Vaitla, has been nominated for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Film among other categories. Samantha had played the lead role in the film and the film is one of the biggest hits ever in Telugu cinema history. The voting has already begun and the inaugural edition of SIIMA will be held on June 21-22 in Dubai and several top celebrities from Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada film industries are expected to grace the event. Lakshmi Manchu, Madhavan and Parvathy Omanakuttan are going to host the show. Actresses like Shruti Haasan, Sameera Reddy, Hansika, Amala Paul, Mamta Mohandas and Nidhi Subbaiah are going to dance at this awards show. Since it’s the first time that this awards show is being held, as a social responsibility initiative, SIIMA has decided to educate 100 kids at primary level from four South Indian film industries

MaheshBabu fans @ Not happy with SVSC?

The trailer of Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, which was released recently, got a thunderous response. Starring Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh, SVSC is one of the much awaited movies of the season, and the audience got a good feel of the film after watching the teaser. Mahesh Babu, the happy man after consecutive blockbusters, looks to be very happy with the response yet again.
Mahesh Babu was quick to thank everyone on the great response of the trailer. The actor wrote, "Superb response for svsc teaser...Thankyou so much guys....waiting eagerly for the festive season :)" (sic). The superstar also took the opportunity to greet his father Krishna on his birthday. "Here's wishing my evergreen superstar father a very happy birthday :):)".
Though their star is very happy, fans are a bit disappointed with trailer. "Teaser promises a family treat but surprisingly there are no glimpses of Mahesh Babu's excellence in it. Director should have kept a punch dialogue as it will help build hype for the movie" fumed Veera, a Mahesh Babu fan. Fans should realize that it's just the first look teaser not a trailer.The first trailer is planned for August and the movie is slated to release in September. The movie is directed by Srikanth Addala and music is composed by Mickey J Meyer.

According to confirmed reports, Power star Pawan Kalyan is going to receive this massive remuneration for Gabbarsingh. Though it cannot be said if he would get the same kind of remuneration for other forthcoming films, reports in circulation confirm that for ‘Gabbar Singh’ he is getting Rs. 20 cr. Pawan Kalyan wanted to remake the Hindi chart buster ‘Dabang’ himself as his earlier films ‘Komaram Puli’, ‘Theen Maar’ and ‘Panja’ had bombed at the box office. However, on second thoughts he wanted to financially help Bandla Ganesh who made ‘Theen Maar’ with him and lost heavily. So he gave the rights for the remake to Ganesh, who made the film as ‘Gabbar Singh’. When the film was made the two had not even discussed about the remuneration as it was a do or die venture for both. Now with the film becoming a major hit, it is going to make a massive profit of Rs. 40 crore, suggest reports. As Pawan has provided him the opportunity to make this film which he himself would have made otherwise, Bandla Ganesh proposed to give half of the profit to the Power Star, say latest reports. Thus Pawan Kalyan will occupy the Number one position as the highest paid hero ever followed by Prince Mahesh Babu who was paid around 10 crores including profits share of Businessman.
