'Rebel' First look on Prabhas Birthday

Young Rebel star Prabhas’s upcoming film 'Rebel'  which is being directed by Raghava Lawrence is gearing up for release in December. The film’s first look is not shown officially till date and the makers are planning to reveal the first look  and launch the publicity campaign on October 23, on the occasion of Prabhas birth day.


The movie is currently being shot in Hyderabad and next schedule of the movie will commence in Bangkok. Tamanna and Deesksha Seth are acting as the female lead and Thaman composing the music for this film. J Bhagwan and J Pulla Rao are producing this movie under the Sri Balaji Cine Media banner.

'Oh MY Friend' title song launched

Dil Raju is producing a movie called 'Oh My Friend' directed by debutant director Venu Sri Ram with Siddarth in the main lead. The movie has completed its shooting and is currently under post production. News is that the title song of the movie was released on Radio Mirchi by Dil Raju and Venu Sri Ram.
Speaking on this occasion Dil Raju said that almost all the movies from our banner are musical hits and hope the same for Oh MY Friend. The movie has 5 songs and 1 bit song. The audio launch would take place in this month and the movie is planning  to release in November. 

Rahul Raj is scoring the music for this movie and he is new to Telugu Film Industry but not to music has already given music for 10 films in Malayalam and he has hands on experience for about 100 jingles for different ads. Shruti Haasan's acting as the female lead and Hansika is doing another female lead and Navadeep is playing an important role in this film. Vijay K Chakravarthi is the cinematographer.

Hansika made her Tollywood debut with Desamuduru and went on to act opposite young stars like Jr NTR, Prabhas and Ram.Hansika’s recent release Kandireega is a big hit and now Hansika has Okayed another film starring Manchu Vishnu vardhan Babu in his current film.

Vishnu is getting ready to work with director G.Nageswara Reddy, who is known for comedy entertainers. The movie is expected to be made as comedy entertainer like 'Dhee'. Kona Venkat has provided the story for this film.
Lakshmi Manchu is producing this film under Sri Lakshmi Prasanna pictures banner. The script work is in the final stages and movie will hit the sets in December. Further details will be announced soon.

Secret Behind 'Oosaravelli' Records?

It was stated that ‘Oosaravelli’ collected Rs 15 Cr plus on the first day (Thursday) of its release world wide. It has shown Rs 1.9 Crore as the collection on the first day in USA. But the official distribution sources from USA state that the film collected not more than Rs 40 lakh on the first day. The figure Rs 1.9 Cr was the amount for which the film was bought by distributors in USA but not the collection (!!)

On the other hand, the collections were projected that big to stand as the top-1 in Tollywood history. Counting the amounts collected by advance bookings (till Sunday), they announced the total first day collection worldwide was Rs 15 Cr plus.
 It is true that hype matters for the success of the film in some cases. But in long run, this type of fake numbers may not help the success of the film in any way.

Rajamouli Confirms 'Mega Offer'

“Of course that would be a chance of lifetime. But at the same time I cannot go back on my commitments. That would be very unprofessional”. This is the tweet that came from Rajamouli on his twitter id. With this, he has indirectly confirmed that Chiranjeevi has asked him to direct his 150th film.

It is known news that Chiranjeevi has been chasing Rajamouli to direct his 150th film. Recently, he directly landed up at the shooting spot of ‘Eega’ and tried to bring pressure on Rajamouli. But after ‘Eega’ he has his project with Prabhas. That’s why Rajamouli made it clear that he cannot utilize the Rs 50 crores mega offer (without calculating the remuneration of Chiranjeevi and giving the first copy).
 But to ensure that the megastar’s ego doesn’t get hurt, as soon as the news came out, he claimed all this news was false. But truth cannot be hidden so easily. So while condemning the news, Rajamouli has involuntarily confirmed the news through his tweet.

Torture For Filmmakers By Stars

As it is, the Tollywood circuit has been suffering badly due to lack of fresh ideas and stories. As if that is not enough, they are now facing with another torture. This is the demand from the big stars and their fans to have ‘ferocious’ titles. So, more than working on the story and script, the makers are busy pulling their head trying to come up with ‘appropriate’ titles.

As a result, many films are currently on the floors without any title or a working title. Buzz is that nearly 30 plus films are like that. This ‘Title’ demand has become a torture for directors and producers. Earlier, there was a tug of war between NTR Jr and Ramcharan for ‘Rachcha’ and later, it went to Charan.

In the case of Pawan Kalyan’s movie, many names like Kaali, Shadow, Tilak made rounds before ‘Panjaa’ got confirmed. This ‘powerful’ title took a lot of discussion, as per sources. It is heard that a similar torture was experienced by Bellamkonda Suresh before zeroing on ‘Ganga-The Bodyguard’. He reportedly revealed how they had to rack their heads to come up with this title since ‘Tulasi’ and ‘Lakshmi’ worked for Venkatesh.

Ramcharan Tej from his end reportedly mentioned that a powerful title adds to a lot of hype. As for Mahesh Babu, the titles are decided based on the demand from fans who seek hard hitting titles. He maintained that they can’t take chances. However, Naga Chaitanya prefers not to focus on such things.
 Recently, producer M L Kumar Chowdary revealed that he is having a tough time trying to fix a title for his new movie with Nandamuri Balakrishna. He has reportedly mentioned that getting a ‘powerful’ or ‘ferocious’ title for a star film is like winning half the battle. It is heard that once a list of titles are shortlisted, they are given to the star and his fans and based on their approval, the announcement is made.

In fact, despite of the average talk it got on the first day, the film is doing great than expected. Fans are saying that there is someone behind the killing of OOSARAVELLI's stamina.

Right from day one, some section of the audiences are branding this film as an average one, a close source of producer BVSN Prasad stated. Most of the fans of Jr.NTR are on belief that some opposition is publicizing about the movie in a negative way. Critics are saying that this is not true, as there is an element in the story that is pushing the film from being a super hit. They are saying that hardcore fans of Jr.NTR cannot digest the story, as it revolves around a girl. In all of director Surender Reddy's flicks, the central element is woven around the female protagonist only. This is not liked by the mass fans of Junior, while the film is scoring brownie points with class audiences.
Whatever may be the argument, whoever may be the killer is, the thing to be noticed is that OOSARAVELLI is a film of distinction, a noted director-cum-producer stated.

There is a rumor in Film Nagar from a long time that most of our senior heroes are running their careers with the support of 'wigs'. They are supposed to have lost acres of hair on their forehead and are fooling around people with 'artificial' hair. Some stars like Rajnikanth and Balakrishna often comes out to public without wig and looks more genuine though they wear wigs on screen.

Coming to our story, journalist Sunitha Chowdary has questioned Nag repeatedly about the originality of his hair and boldly argued that it is a 'wig'. Upon hearing such false allegations, Nag lost his cool on the lady journalist and made some verbal abuses. This is in turn is portrayed as a 'sexual harassment' by Sunitha who has lost to Nag in that 'hair' case, the insider revealed. The authenticity of the information is yet to be verified however!
 There is no piece of word from both sides about the case and the Police revealed that they are still investigating. Cine Observers are saying that no doubt there will be an out-of-court settlement.

Would Bollywood notice Panjaa?

It has been gala time for stories with elements of action, romance, comedy and a bit of larger-than-life heroism.  This explains why more and more dream merchants in Bollywood have been enamoured of films like Ghajini, Pokiri, Ready, Gharshana (Mani Ratnam's film of the '80s), Bodyguard, Dookudu etc.
Going by the trend, would Panjaa too be noticed by some producer or the other in Bollywood?  The answer to this question would be a confident yes.  For one, the film is high on adrenaline action.  For another, it has a mafia backdrop and other intriguing elements.
Though the film has not released, expectations on it are high.  Perhaps the film will be watched by wannabes in Bollywood for sure if it becomes a hit.
Panjaa has got a responsibility to live up to the expectations of Pawan's fans as well as the fans of South Indian films in Bollywood.  Aha!

RamCharan, Vamsi Paidipally movie announced

Mega Power Star Ram Charan Tej is soon going to work with Vamsi Paidipally, the director of last year’s super hit Brindavanam. Dil Raju is producing this movie on Sri Venkateswara Creations Banner.

Speculation about this movie has been doing the rounds for sometime now and today, the formal announcement was made. Dil Raju is confident that this movie will reach the expectations of Ram Charan Tej’s fans. “This is a very interesting and powerful script and Ram Charan has readily agreed to do the film after listening to it. Vamsi Paidipally has already delivered two superhits in our banner and I am confident that this will be the third.”

Vamsi Paidipally says that he is excited to work with Ram Charan. “The script work is in the final stages. We will finish it soon and hit the sets as soon as we can. This movie will be another milestone for Ram Charan and Dil Raju”, he said.

The movie will go to sets soon. As of now, the heroine’s name has not yet been announced. The production unit has informed us that the details will be announced on the Muhurtham Pooja day, which is expected to be held soon.

Pawan 'Panja' next schedule form Oct 10th

Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s latest film 'Panja' next schedule is going to begin at Ramoji film city, Hyderabad from October 10th. A song would be shot on Pawan Kalyan, Sesh Adivi and Anjali Lavania on a special dance floor set. With this the movie would complete its entire shooting part.

This is a stylish action entertainer in which Pawan does the role of a mafia don.Vishnuvardhan is the director of this film and Sarah Jane Dias and Anjali Lavaniaare playing the female leads. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music for this film. The audio will be launched in November and film is slated for release in December.

Dookudu Comfortably Beats Magadheera

Ever since the time ‘Dookudu’ released and even before that, the only topic of discussion was whether it has enough to beat the all time best blockbuster ‘Magadheera’. Now, the film has released and it appears that the film is on its way to replace ‘Magadheera’ and set new records.

According to reports, the total collections for 14 days in gross are Rs 70 crores. The cine pundits say that in just another 15 days, it can touch Rs 85 crores if the same trend continues. Now, this is without the price of the satellite rights and just box office collection. It was reported earlier that the satellite was given away for Rs 5.25 crores.
 So, as per the estimation of the producers, the chances of ‘Dookudu’ touching nearly Rs 90 crores look very strong. And if there is any revenue from remake rights then it is considered as plus. Altogether, it will add and who knows it might touch Rs 100 crores, say observers although many are ruling out the possibility.

One of the Shankar’s finest movies Bharateeyudu is going to have a sequel soon says the buzz from Kollywood. Producer AM Ratnam who made Indian (in Tamil) is toying with the idea of making a sequel with Ajith Kumar in the lead. Shankar is yet to give a nod to this proposal.

AM Ratnam recently acquired dates of Ajith Kumar and he has been trying to rope in one of the top most directors of Tamil cinema for this film. He is eyeing Shankar at the moment and if he says yes for it, then Bharateeyudu 2 will start rolling.
Ajith Kumar proved to be the biggest crowd puller among Tamil middle aged heroes and he is riding high with Mankatha (Gambler) success. Shankar also has been looking to work with Ajith for long but that didn’t happen till now. If this duo teams up then AM Ratnam will have a gold mine at hands.

Good days for Tollywood

For the past three months, nothing seemed to go right for Telugu film industry. Most of the film hardly made an impact and some of the films turned out to be major disappointments. However, it all changed on September 23 when Mahesh Babu’s Dookudu hit the screens. The film registered record openings, right from day one and went on to several records at several centres. So far, the producers claim that the film has grossed Rs 70 crores which is humungous and it’s by far the biggest hit for Mahesh Babu. On October 5th, the first look of Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming film Panjaa was revealed and so impressed were Pawan Kalyan’s fans that they couldn’t stop going gaga over the actor’s brand new look.

The beefed up body and the beard seemed to have hit the right chord and all eyes will be on the film’s trailer which is expected to be aired on Diwali. A day later, on October 6th, NTR’s Oosaravelli had released in record number of theatres across the state and the US. As is the case with other NTR’s films, the openings were phenomenal. The film collected Rs 15.75 crores on day 1 as per the producer and it’s the best opening ever in a single day in Telugu cinema. These three films seem to have lifted the spirits of everyone in the film industry and also the audience. With several big budget films and big stars’ films lined up for releas over the next few weeks, it certainly looks like Telugu film industry can expect the good run to continue in the near future as well.
