Prabhas @ Wants To Come As 'Rudraiah'

Like all those star-kids, young rebel star Prabhas is also trying hard to continue the legacy of his uncle. This is quite evident from his upcoming film and another flick is also following this now.
Prabhas is coming with 'Rebel' under the direction of Lawrence very soon. We all know where this title comes from. His uncle Krishnam Raju is popular known as 'Rebel Star'. Now, sources are saying that another upcoming movie 'Vaaradhi' is also going for a title change. Directed by popular writer Koratala Siva this movie has wrapped almost 90% of shoot. Insiders are saying that 'Vaaradhi' is just tentative title and they are now considering an old title of Krishnam Raju's movie. 
It will be either 'Rudraiah' or a modern conversion of it, like 'Rudra'. However, critics are saying that posh Teugu titles are not giving luck to Prabhas. English names like 'Mr.Perfect' and 'Darling' helped this macho man commercially at Box Office. Watch this space for more updates!

Heroines working down South generally prefer to go bulk when it comes to their figure, as most fans love them that way. Times are not the same always, as trends are changing.
'Leader' movie fame Richa Gangopadhyay has recently received a blow for her bulging assets. Her bulging figure has sacked the beauty from a golden offer to star along Tamil hero Ajith. Richa was selected as heroine for Ajith and Vishnuvardhan Even after doing a test shoot, the makers have opted for a slim beauty rather signing curvaceous Richa. Our busty siren is replaced by another ravishing damsel Tapsee. 
Though this is a second heroine role, starring in a top hero's flick will always prove advantage for a glamour-doll's career. While Richa is proud of her appealing figure, she is a little disappointed as that is not bringing cool offers her way.

Sara Awarded @ as Best Child Artist of 2011 !

Edison Awards for the year 2011 was held recently. In which Vijay, Richa Gangopadhyay, Lakshmi Rai and many other celebrities where seen along with child artist Sara.
Sara who acted as the daughter of Vikram in Deivathirumagal won the Best Child Artist Award of the year 2011. She was honored for her outstanding performance in the film.
Sara who dressed in salwar kameez was an angel in everyone's eyes. The award was presented to Sara by actress Richa Gangopadhyay.

Vijay Won @ Best Actor Award!!

Actor Vijay has been adjudged the best for his performance in Velayudham at the 5th Edition of the Edison awards in Chennai recently.
Richa Gangopadhyaya won the female artiste award for best debut for her performance in Mayakkam Enna.
Among the other awards were Premgi Amaren for his comic role in Mankatha, Raghava Lawrence was given his best in Kanchana.
Saravanan won an award for best debut director for his film Engeyum Eppothum and Shanthakumar won the best screenplay award for Mounaguru.
It seems such awards will give fillip to the industry men who are in the midst of a strike like situation after the wage row between FEFSI and Producers Council has halted all shootings.

Richa Gangopadhyaya gave a pleasant surprise to Allu Arjun as he noticed that she is very tall. An amused Allu Arjun couldn't hide his shock as he expressed the same on the stage of Ee Rojullo Audio launch. "Enti Richa intha height unnava nuvvu, nenasalu expect cheyaledu!" said Bunny in a funny tone.
Actually no one expected such a comment from Allu Arjun on stage. He might have felt embarrassed to shake hands with a heroine who is taller than him. It is natural for men to feel inferior when they meet tall girls. And Allu Arjun being a big hero, should have felt bad about it.
Arjun's cousin Ram Charan was aware of Richa's height. He met her at Leader premiere. Needless to say that she is taller than Charan. Tall heroines are finding it tough in Tollywood these days as most of the young heroes are of average height and they are not keen on roping tall heroines opposite them. NTR, Charan, Allu Arjun and many other young heroes are short in height. So actresses like Richa, Deeksha, Anushka are not being entertained by them.

Victory Venkatesh is going to work with Meher Ramesh for a new project. The latest info we have received suggests that Venkatesh will be seen in the role of a Don in the movie.This is perhaps the first time in Venkatesh’s career where he is playing the role of a Don.Jagapathi Babu will be seen in a crucial role in the movie. Richa Gangopadhyay is the heroine in this project.

Richa wanted Single Bedroom with Him!!

Buxom babe richa gangopadhyay, away from all sorts of masala controversies has finally broke into news for some wrong reason. With busy career in Tamil films, Richa has got a decent hit recently with ‘Mayakkam Enna’ that starred Dhanush, Sunder Ramu in lead roles and also ‘Osthi’ with Simbu. As per Kollywood reports, Richa and Sunder Ramu went to a Star Hotel in Chennai on a recent night and asked in reception to provide them a single bedroom on pretext of having some work together.

Confused hotel management misunderstood them and refused to allot a single room. Richa reportedly picked a fight with hotel authorities and then walked out in anguish. ‘How can media speak on my personal life with information from unreliable sources to take out of context conclusions? Sunder Ramu came to hotel only to hand over my high resolution photos which are a part of my portfolio,’ Richa said. Now, this might be true because Sunder Ramu is celebrated photographer of South and is the man behind designing best portfolios of many top artists.

Rana’s heroine in ‘Leader’, Richa Gangopadyaya was caught red handed in Chennai. Indeed, that was in the issue of her boy friend Sudhakar. Well, who is this guy? He is a fashion photographer by profession and later played a role in Tamil film Mayakkam Enna with Richa as lover. They became close from then and seen moving close and cozy as per Chennai reports. Sudhakar became very possessive of her and is accompanying her every corner. When the production team of another film went to airport to pick her up, she denied them and got into the car of Sudhakar, says a source. She is also seen getting into ‘comfort zone’ with him not minding the situations around.

Adding to that, a couple of days ago she made ruckus at the Rain Tree Hotel in Chennai where the hotel authorities did not allow Sudhakar into Richa’s room. As that’s a single occupancy room, the hotel authorities made their point clear in not allowing another person with her for the night. The actress got red with anger and developed strife with hotel authorities. She said to the receptionist that he came to repair her lap top. Then the hotel authorities asked her to make him sit in lobby and repair.
The actress vacated the room immediately and shifted to The Accord Metropolitan Hotel. Well, Sudhakar might have repaired her LAP TOP there!!

Story
It is a typical commercial cop story that we grew-up watching. A corrupt cop Osthi Velan (STR) fears for nothing. He robs from Peter and pays the Paul. More a man with Robinhood heart, Osthi Velan is man of style and substance. He has love-hate relationship with his half brother Balan (Jithan Ramesh). There is love for him in the form of Neduvali (Richa Gangopadhyaya), daughter of a drunkard (VTV Ganesh). They get attracted to each other and fall for each other. There is an enemy to Osthi Velan in the form of Boxer Daniel (Sonu Sood). Both cross swords with each other. Osthi Velan's life has a doting mother (Revathy), a funny cop Selvam (Santhanam) around him. Velan in his typical style fights the evil designs of Boxer Daniel. He rips off his shirt towards the climax to win over him in a battle. Eventually the commercial venture ends with victory for Osthi Velan and he holding the hands of his beau.


Performance
It is Simbu's special all the way. The multi-faceted actor has preferred to play to the gallery. He as Osthi Velan, a funny cop with his own antics is entertaining and energetic. He fights, dances, romances and preaches too in his imitable style. No way one can compare Simbhu's performance with that of Salman for STR has rendered it in his own style. His diction of Thirunelveli dialect is good. Especially when he rips his shirt towards the climax fighting Sonu Sood is a special treat for his fans. The young actor has impressed one and all. Sonu Sood does what he did in the original. At places funny and at places a clichéd villain on Tamil screen, Sonu Sood leaves his impression in a movie which otherwise is occupied by STR's massive screen-presence. He unlike villains in other Tamil films, get a major share on screen and utilize the opportunity well. He gyrates and speaks from the bottom of his belly at places.


Richa Gangopadhyaya, who is in a fine form thanks to stupendous success of her recent release Mayakkam Enna, consolidates her place strongly with Osthi. As Neduvalli, who is in love with Osthi Velan, she is homely yet glamorous. Her expressions and emotions are apt and Dharani extracts the best from his heroine. Santhanam emerges true champ with his one-liners that tickles our funny-bones. He is at his crackling best and scenes involving him and Simbu bring the roof down with laughter. Jithan Ramesh enacts the role played by Arbaz Khan as step-brother of Osthi Velan. He gets a meaty role to play and there is romance for him too. He is energetic too onscreen. Dharani's choice of star cast is apt for the masala venture. The likes of VTV Ganesh, Thambi Ramiah, Nasser, and Revathy add pep to the proceedings with a performance that is straight from their heart. The highlight being Bollywood sexy-siren Mallika Sherawat appearing for an item number equivalent to Munni Badnam.


Technicalities
Director Dharani and cinematographer Gopinath share an excellent rapport and the two proved their mettle in their earlier outings. Osthi is no different and the duo makes it an engrossing affair where the camera compliments the racy story line. The major fillip for the movie is S Thaman's exemplary music. The pacy and racy songs are the major plus for the movie. The songs especially the title song Osthi rendered by Baba Sehgal, STR's rendition of cute pondatti and Kalasala Kalasala makes everyone break loose. Dharani's dialogues are crisp and Nellai Tamil fits the story well. Dharani has ensured that its racy commercial all through with no compromise. There are songs, fights, romance, comedy sequences and no dull moments all through.


Finally:
An honest remake, Osthi is entertaining if you forget all logic and go inside cinema-hall for sheer joy, fun and entertainment. Dharani and STR have pulled it off in style. Three cheers to Osthi team.
