We all know that Mani Ratnam is doing a romantic love story as his next film. The move has been titled as 'Kadal'. It would be a bilingual that will be made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. 'Kadali' is the title under consideration for Telugu version.
Mani Ratnam is introducing veteran actor Karthik's son Gautham as hero and Samanta is the female lead. News is that regular shoot of the movie will commence from 23 of this month, mean while the makers are revealed the first look poster of this film and raised the curiosity.
This will be Maniratnam's Love story after his evergreen romantic film 'Sakhi'. Arjun, Arvind Swamy will be seen in key roles in Kadal. AR Rahman is composing music for Kadal, Cinematography by Rajiv Menon, Editing by Sreekar Prasad and Maniratnam producing this movie under his own banner Madras Talkies.

Samantha @ in Mani Ratnam’s Kadali!!

Actress Samantha is roped into play the female lead in legendary director Mani Ratnam’s next film. Titled Kadal (sea) in Tamil, this will be released in Telugu as Kadali. Mani Ratnam thought of roping in a fresh face for this film, but finally settled with Samantha.
Karthik’s son Gautham is playing the lead role in Kadali. This film will be launched on February 11. Samantha hails from Tamilnadu, but got her first break in Telugu cinema. She is going to make a mark in Tamil cinema this year with Gautham Menon and Mani Ratnam films.
Samantha is also making debut in Hindi this year with Gautham Menon’s trilingual flick. She is extremely busy in Tollywood now.

Maniratnam's @ film titled Kadal!!

Finally it's official, the upcoming film of ace director Maniratnam has been titled as 'Kadal'.
Earlier it was spreaded widely that the film was titled as Pookadai but he denied the media reports with this official announcement.
But the star cast remains the same with Karthik's son Gautham playing the lead role, but the female role was grabbed by Samantha says sources.
Also Arjun, Arvind Swamy, Thambi Ramaiah will be seen in significant roles in Kadal. This will be Maniratnam's Love story after his evergreen romantic film 'Alaipayuthey' starring Madhavan and Shalini in the lead roles.
Also AR Rahman will be composing music for Kadal, Cinematography by Rajiv Menon, Editing by Sreekar Prasad and produced under his own banner Madras Talkies.
So excitement are there for Maniratanam's magic to repeat once again.

Mani Rathnam's @ film title in trouble!!

Pookadai is said to be the title of ace director Mani Rathnam's upcoming movie. But it seems like there will be a title change for the movie.

Recently one of the assitant's of director Saran met the Directors Association and claimed that the title Pookadai has been registered by him long back.

The news Mani Rathnam and he is said to be irked with the issue. The film which is a love story revolves around the lives of Rameshwaram fishermen who stuck in the hands of Lankan army.

Lakshmi Manchu in Maniratnam Direction!!!

The one name that comes to mind when speaking about celebrity starlets is Lakshmi Manchu. Within a short span, this elegant lady made a mark for herself in the cine circuit and soon she will be seen in the Bollywood circuit through her debut film 'Department'.

Before that is out, here is another one. Lakshmi has been roped in for a Tamil film 'Pookadai' and this would be directed by Mani Ratnam. Now, sources say Lakshmi is leaving no stone unturned to get into the skin of the character and it is heard that she would be seen as a typical Tamil girl.
So, the buzz is that Lakshmi has decided to dub for her own voice and she would be speaking Tamil with the right diction. As such, the pretty lady has got few roots connected to Chennai so she is fluent with the language. Let us see how her preparations to excel in Tamil will work out.

Sonam Kapoor in Mani Ratnam’s next?

Legendary director Mani Ratnam has been in search of finding an apt lady to do the female lead in his next film. There was buzz that he would sign Kamal Hassan’s younger daughter Akshara and Radha’s younger daughter Thulasi, but all those proved to be just speculations at the end.

The latest we hear about this film is that Maniratnam has signed in Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor as the female lead. Sonam has been the favorite and most sought after actress of Tamil film makers, bus she couldn’t make her South debut due to her busy schedules in Bollywood.
There is no official confirmation regarding this but buzz says that Sonam would be more than happy to make debut with Mani’s film. Karthik son Gautham is playing the lead role in this film which would be made in Telugu and Tamil. In Tamil this film is titled Pookadai.

Mani Ratnam Romantic Movie with Sonam Kapoor!!!

The maverick movie maker Mani Ratnam is often known for his crafty style of movie making and his intense way to storytelling. Usually, many are fans for his packaging the movie and the importance he gives for heroines. Now, it is heard that he has gone in for a romantic tryst with a pretty girl.

She happens to be the daughter of a big hero. Well, we are talking about Sonam Kapoor, daughter of Anil Kapoor and it is heard that Mani has approached her to be part of his romantic venture which is going to start soon. The film would also mark the debut of Gautham, son of veteran hero Karthik.
Sources say Sonam was in two minds but it was her father who convinced her to be part of the project. Incidentally, Anil made his debut into cinema with a Telugu film so he has full knowledge of how the south industry works and its benefits. Let us wait for the formal announcement then.
