Though it is not said openly there is always a constant race to grab the number 1 spot in Tollywood which is considered very prestigious. Given the range of heroes we have and the huge followings they command, the competition is neck-to-neck and currently that has become the hot discussion among many circles.
Three names are in contention and they are Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan, Junior NTR. The question is - who is the best? Mahesh scored a hit with his recent release ‘Businessman’. Charan arrived with ‘Rachcha’ and it has so far touched decent collections. And NTR is arriving with the much hyped ‘Dhammu’.
So far ‘Businessman’ is standing at number one and it is clear that ‘Rachcha’ cannot compete with it. Then, can ‘Dhammu’ do it? Everyone wants to boast his supremacy but will it happen. The fight is tight but the key to having the number one slot would be consistency at the box office.
'Endukante Premanta', which is the most expensive film in the career of energetic hero Ram, has become a major point of discussion in the Industry.
This romantic entertainer directed by Karunakaran was being made with a whoofing budget of Rs. 26 crores. Notably, 'Endukante Premanta' has some resemblence to Ram Charan's disastrous flick 'Orange'. The film 'Orange' was made with a budget of Rs. 33 crore, but failed to recover even the investment despite having the backing of huge fan following.
The main reason for the failure of 'Orange' is said to be the budget failure. "The budget for a romantic entertainer shouldn't be on par with a mass entertainer. Spending a huge amount on romantic comedies is always a ricky attempt," says a film critic.
Even Ram's out-and-out mass entertainers like Maska and Kandireega are made with a limited budget and makers got benefited from it. But the young hero has fallen in the trap with 'Endukante Premanta', by spending more than required. Let's see, if he drowns in the sinking ship or comes out with flying colors!
On Wednesday morning Priyanka Chopra was signed to play the lead role in the new-age version of Zanjeer to be directed by Apoorva Lakhia. According to sources from the project, Priyanka's role would be a far cry from Jaya Bhaduri's chakku-churee walee in the original Zanjeer.

The source added that RamCharan and Priyanka already have been in talks to get familiar with each other. He said "Charan has promised to help Priyanka with her Telugu if she promises to help him with his Hindi". Let us hope Upasana watching all this, she has to be careful here not to become another Gowri Khan, who is struggling to separate his husband from Priyana. What say folks?

Contrary to the reports in the media that Seetamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (SVSC) will not be hitting the screens in 2012, producer Dil Raju is now looking at the possibility of releasing the film in the month of September or October.
According to the unit sources, Superstar Mahesh Babu is pressurising Dil Raju to release the film during the Dussera season at any cost. After the super success of 'Dookudu', Dussera has turned out to be lucky season for the star. So, he doesn't want to miss it! Although the film was planned for a Dussera release by the makers initially, they postponed it to Sankranthi 2013 due to the non-cooperation of Prakash Raj. His rift with Dil Raju forced the versatile actor to skip the first schedule of SVSC. However, Prakash Raj agreed to join the shoot after sorting out few issues in a closed door meeting with the makers. Prakash Raj gave fresh call sheets for the film and the next schedule was planned accordingly. As per this revised schedule, SVSC will be completed only by December.
Now, Dil Raju is in a fix over the release of the film. To which side he will take now - Will it be Mahesh (to convince him for smooth release during Sankranthi 2013) or Prakash (to allot fresh dates to release the film for Dussera)? Dil Raju, who is known for his business acumen, has a plan for everything. Let's wait and watch!
Film Industry is the place where equations change very quickly and that to after the release of every biggie. In this competitive world, you can't take anything for granted. Hence, one should strive continuously to be in the race.
After delivering blockbusters in the form of 'Dookudu' and 'Businessman', Mahesh Babu was treated as an undisputed king of Tollywood and the movie goers agreed with the opinion that no other hero could pose a threat to his No. 1 slot in the near future. But the equations have changed with the stupendous collections Racha has been getting.
As per the trade, Racha has crossed the opening day and opening weekend collections of 'Businessman' in several areas. As director Sampath Nandi is not a crowd puller, Ram Charan took the responsibility onto his shoulders and succeeded in getting record openings. Now the question arises - What would be the impact if Charan teams up with a star director? Will it be another Magadheera? Let's wait and watch! But for now, it seems like Ram Charan is only next to Mahesh Babu!
