Vidya Balan is at her glamorous, boldest and sultry best in her upcoming film 'The Dirty Picture', touted to be inspired from southern sex symbol Silk Smitha. Ekta Kapoor, the producer of the film, says she is confident about the outcome of the film.

"I would be surprised if I don't get unbelievable critical acclaim for 'The Dirty Picture' and a national award for Vidya Balan," said Ekta Kapoor. The story of Silk Smitha - her journey from poor village girl to soft porn star, thanks to the bold and semi-nude roles she had done. Added to it her gradual fall with financial crisis and personal problems. Though Vidya Balan was appreciated by many for the make-over she has gone to this film, there were few who say Vidya  is not a match to Silk Smitha.

"Vidya looks sexy, but she is nothing like Silk. Vidya lacks the oomph and sensuality of Silk. Silk was dusky, with over 5 feet 7 inches tall; her eyes were big and when she did those sexy movements of licking her thick luscious lips and rolling her eyes up in a dreamy way, she gave men something to think about. In Vidya's case, she appears to be 5 feet 2 inches tall with small eyes. Silk managed to fill the screen with her broad shoulders and long legs. Vidya is tiny and her torso doesn't quite add up,'' opined an actor, who has done films with Silk Smitha. Let's wait till the release of the film, to get a clear picture of whether Vidya has done justice to the role of Silk Smitha!

Miss Andhra to scorch @Tollywood

Mahima Bararia, who has bagged the Miss Andhra 2011 title, says she is ready to try her luck in the tinsel town. The 19-year-old girl clarified that she is not in a hurry and would wait for right script to come her way. "Though there are offers from Tollywood filmmakers, I will take them at the right time. I would love to act in films," said Mahima.

Mahima is a Mass Communication student from St Francis college. The hyderabadi girl has plans to take her modelling career to the next level after winning the beauty pageant contest. "Modelling has always been a hobby of mine. But, now I want to take it to the next level. I would love to participate in the Miss India contest," she said. Fashion trend is not new to Hyderabad but in recent past this trend has increased with multinational companies, Lounge bars, International Fashion stores flow into the City. Hope Mahima will have a long lasting career in Tollywood!

The first look and the trailer of 'The Dirty Picture', which was inspired by the southern sex bomb, is the talk of the town. Vidya Balan is playing the role of the sex icon Vijaylakshmi, better known as Silk Smitha, in the film. Though the film critics have always referred to Silk Smitha as a 'soft porn' actress, Vidya Balan says she won't be tagged with the same.

"I think, I'm an actor playing the character of Silk Smitha. I don't think there is a possibility of that tag being attached to me. I just hope it adds another shade to me as an actor," said Vidya Balan. Vidya Balan is at her boldest ever in 'The Dirty Picture', but the actress says she never felt a sense of discomfort shooting for the movie as she was in the trusted hands. Silk Smitha was born in to a poor family in Eluru in Andhra Pradesh. She left school early to fulfill her dream to become a movie star. She was known for her bold and daring erotica on celluloid. Film makers could not imagine releasing a film without a titillating song or cameo by Smitha. She was every film maker's lucky charm. Financial crises and personal problems took a toll on Smitha's life. It is this moving story that has been captured in this latest offering by producer Ekta Kapoor and director Milan Luthria.

The tragic life and death of Silk Smitha, the sex siren who became an inseparable part of South Indian cinema will no doubt make for interesting viewing. The film is set to be released on December 2, the birth anniversary of Silk Smitha.

Nagarjuna and Balakrishna to share screen?

At a time, when there are comments that real multi-starrers had become a rare phenomenon in the Tollywood, here comes the good news. Earlier, the heroes of yesteryears like NT Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Krishna, Krishnamraju, Mohanbabu and Chiranjeevi used to share the screens and the directors brought out several hit films with the combination of two or more heroes. After 1990, no such films could be seen in Telugu with more than one hero. Now, it is reliably learnt that Balakrishna had agreed to do a multi-starrer and he is ready to work with Nagarjuna in the remake of Bollywood hit film 'Chupke Chupke'.

Let us hope that the project would take the shape and the Telugu industry treads a new path of multi-starrers. It may be mentioned here that Ramanaidu had the plans to remake Gundamma Katha with the combination of two young heroes. Likewise, Dil Raju is planning to produce a film with two heroes with the title 'Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu'. Venkatesh and Pawan Kalyan were expected to do the film and later there were gossips that Venkatesh and Maheshbabu are pairing up. One had to wait and watch who would share the screen for the movie.

Pawan's new movie first look in October

Pawan Kalyan's latest film which tentatively titled Kaali first look will be reviled in October. Earlier it is informed that the film title and first look  will announce  on September 2 on the eve of Pawan Kalyan’s birthday. But now it is postponed  for one more month.

Vishnuvardhan is directing this film andYuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music. PS Vinod is the cinematographer.Sarah Jane Dias and Anjana Lavania are the female leads in this film. Arka Media and Sanghamitra productions are jointly producing this film. The film is progressing at a very fast pace and it will be ready for release in December.

Balakrishna's Son In Bellamkonda's Grip

The mystery still remains as to who shot the bullet into Bellamkonda at Balayya’s house and situation is such that it still remains near his heart. The bonding between Nandamuri Balakrishna and Bellamkonda Suresh needs no introduction. 

Meanwhile, as part of the ‘Bullet Agreement’, Bellamkonda is already making ‘Hara Hara Mahadev’ with Balayya. In this process, he is reportedly trying for an opportunity to introduce Balayya’s son Mokshagnya as hero. Amala Paul to replace Colours Swathi

There was news in the media that Colours Swathi was playing a cameo in Ram Charan's latest project 'Rachcha'. However, the latest information is that Ram Charan is opting for Amala Paul for the role instead of Swathi.

After watching the performance of Amala Paul in 'Nanna' (Daiva Tirumagan in Tamil), Ram Charan reportedly impressed and suggested the director to contact her to do the special role in 'Rachcha'.

Now, director Sampath Nandi is in a dilemma whether to take Amala Paul as he had already promised the role to Colours Swathi.

Presently the shooting of Rachcha is in progress in Hyderabad and soon leave for Bangkok and later to Sri Lanka on abroad schedules.
