NTR Breaks Free, Ram Charan on a Spree!

NTR Junior turned out to be the youngest hero to attain superstardom among the masses. Although he enjoyed few hits with that mass following, NTR soon realized that he couldn't win the other sections hearts. He is now trying very hard to earn some fans in families and youth. Despite being aware of taking the risk, NTR is doing films like Oosaravelli to break free.

When NTR is struggling to shrug off the mass image, Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan is going in the same direction that NTR travelled early in his career. Charan attempted something different with Orange which didn't click at the box office. Charan's mindset is completely changed with just one flop and he has switched back to doing routine mass films.
His current production Racha is a run of the mill film and the next to follow will be another routine fare. Charan zeroed in on Vamsi Paidipally who made Brindavanam, which didn't bear a hint of novelty. Even producer Dil Raju is making films that are safe bet for him and buyers in the recent past. So we can't expect them to suddenly change the genres when on successful track. Seems like Charan will soon fall in the mass trap and later realize the pain in it! 

'Rajanna' Talk: Positive and Negative

The festival season has approached and this is time when some of the big ticket movies come and so, the excitement is high. One such film which is being awaited with much anticipation is 'Rajanna'. This has Nagarjuna in the lead and he is pairing up with Sneha. The film is slated to be made on the backdrop of Telangana and the Razakar movement.

So, here is a look at the plus and minus of the film. Though it is given that the director of the film is Vijayendra Prasad, many say it is almost Rajamouli who is the director. Incidentally, that is also meant to be the cause for delay in the shaping up of his project 'Eega'. Ideally, Rajamouli is expected to take care of the action sequences in 'Rajanna' and it is coming in his father's name as the director.

The reason behind this is move is so that the expectations will come down. Sources say this is more like a family game. Due to expectations, the risk is always high. The funda is either the artist should be small or Rajamouli's name should not be there if big heroes are there. And usually, it is Rajamouli who also takes care of the script along with the fights. The other plus for the cinema is, it is the Razakar story in Telangana backdrop so there is good pre release hype.

On the Minus side, reports are arriving that the film got dragged at many places. Also, there is a talk that too much of sentimental overdose has been included. The other point is, Nag is an outdated actor. So, many are saying he cannot perform like before. 'Rajanna' is a period movie so it will be a little skeptical on how the audience will relate to the film.
 Only the film's release can provide the true answer. 

'Rebel' First look on Prabhas Birthday

Young Rebel star Prabhas’s upcoming film 'Rebel'  which is being directed by Raghava Lawrence is gearing up for release in December. The film’s first look is not shown officially till date and the makers are planning to reveal the first look  and launch the publicity campaign on October 23, on the occasion of Prabhas birth day.


The movie is currently being shot in Hyderabad and next schedule of the movie will commence in Bangkok. Tamanna and Deesksha Seth are acting as the female lead and Thaman composing the music for this film. J Bhagwan and J Pulla Rao are producing this movie under the Sri Balaji Cine Media banner.

'Oh MY Friend' title song launched

Dil Raju is producing a movie called 'Oh My Friend' directed by debutant director Venu Sri Ram with Siddarth in the main lead. The movie has completed its shooting and is currently under post production. News is that the title song of the movie was released on Radio Mirchi by Dil Raju and Venu Sri Ram.
Speaking on this occasion Dil Raju said that almost all the movies from our banner are musical hits and hope the same for Oh MY Friend. The movie has 5 songs and 1 bit song. The audio launch would take place in this month and the movie is planning  to release in November. 

Rahul Raj is scoring the music for this movie and he is new to Telugu Film Industry but not to music has already given music for 10 films in Malayalam and he has hands on experience for about 100 jingles for different ads. Shruti Haasan's acting as the female lead and Hansika is doing another female lead and Navadeep is playing an important role in this film. Vijay K Chakravarthi is the cinematographer.

Hansika in Manchu Vishnu Film

Hansika made her Tollywood debut with Desamuduru and went on to act opposite young stars like Jr NTR, Prabhas and Ram.Hansika’s recent release Kandireega is a big hit and now Hansika has Okayed another film starring Manchu Vishnu vardhan Babu in his current film.

Vishnu is getting ready to work with director G.Nageswara Reddy, who is known for comedy entertainers. The movie is expected to be made as comedy entertainer like 'Dhee'. Kona Venkat has provided the story for this film.
Lakshmi Manchu is producing this film under Sri Lakshmi Prasanna pictures banner. The script work is in the final stages and movie will hit the sets in December. Further details will be announced soon.

Secret Behind 'Oosaravelli' Records?

It was stated that ‘Oosaravelli’ collected Rs 15 Cr plus on the first day (Thursday) of its release world wide. It has shown Rs 1.9 Crore as the collection on the first day in USA. But the official distribution sources from USA state that the film collected not more than Rs 40 lakh on the first day. The figure Rs 1.9 Cr was the amount for which the film was bought by distributors in USA but not the collection (!!)

On the other hand, the collections were projected that big to stand as the top-1 in Tollywood history. Counting the amounts collected by advance bookings (till Sunday), they announced the total first day collection worldwide was Rs 15 Cr plus.
 It is true that hype matters for the success of the film in some cases. But in long run, this type of fake numbers may not help the success of the film in any way.

Rajamouli Confirms 'Mega Offer'

“Of course that would be a chance of lifetime. But at the same time I cannot go back on my commitments. That would be very unprofessional”. This is the tweet that came from Rajamouli on his twitter id. With this, he has indirectly confirmed that Chiranjeevi has asked him to direct his 150th film.

It is known news that Chiranjeevi has been chasing Rajamouli to direct his 150th film. Recently, he directly landed up at the shooting spot of ‘Eega’ and tried to bring pressure on Rajamouli. But after ‘Eega’ he has his project with Prabhas. That’s why Rajamouli made it clear that he cannot utilize the Rs 50 crores mega offer (without calculating the remuneration of Chiranjeevi and giving the first copy).
 But to ensure that the megastar’s ego doesn’t get hurt, as soon as the news came out, he claimed all this news was false. But truth cannot be hidden so easily. So while condemning the news, Rajamouli has involuntarily confirmed the news through his tweet.

Torture For Filmmakers By Stars

As it is, the Tollywood circuit has been suffering badly due to lack of fresh ideas and stories. As if that is not enough, they are now facing with another torture. This is the demand from the big stars and their fans to have ‘ferocious’ titles. So, more than working on the story and script, the makers are busy pulling their head trying to come up with ‘appropriate’ titles.

As a result, many films are currently on the floors without any title or a working title. Buzz is that nearly 30 plus films are like that. This ‘Title’ demand has become a torture for directors and producers. Earlier, there was a tug of war between NTR Jr and Ramcharan for ‘Rachcha’ and later, it went to Charan.

In the case of Pawan Kalyan’s movie, many names like Kaali, Shadow, Tilak made rounds before ‘Panjaa’ got confirmed. This ‘powerful’ title took a lot of discussion, as per sources. It is heard that a similar torture was experienced by Bellamkonda Suresh before zeroing on ‘Ganga-The Bodyguard’. He reportedly revealed how they had to rack their heads to come up with this title since ‘Tulasi’ and ‘Lakshmi’ worked for Venkatesh.

Ramcharan Tej from his end reportedly mentioned that a powerful title adds to a lot of hype. As for Mahesh Babu, the titles are decided based on the demand from fans who seek hard hitting titles. He maintained that they can’t take chances. However, Naga Chaitanya prefers not to focus on such things.
 Recently, producer M L Kumar Chowdary revealed that he is having a tough time trying to fix a title for his new movie with Nandamuri Balakrishna. He has reportedly mentioned that getting a ‘powerful’ or ‘ferocious’ title for a star film is like winning half the battle. It is heard that once a list of titles are shortlisted, they are given to the star and his fans and based on their approval, the announcement is made.
