It is not often that one gets to see Kamal Haasan getting embroiled in any controversy and usually, his statements come up with good analysis. However, the latest statements from Kamal seem to have sent few shock waves in the cine circuit and media circles. It is heard that Kamal has reportedly blamed Pakistan for destabilizing the business of Indian cinema industry. Apparently, Kamal's claim is that Pakistan is very active in piracy business and a lot of piracy money is getting channelled to Karachi. It is also heard that Kamal is giving these statements based on evidence he has gathered. The allegation is that the men and the equipment is being organized by Pakistan. While it is not sure what evidence Kamal has got, those in the cine circuit say that it is indeed a grave concern and Kamal will not say anything just like that. Perhaps it is time for the authorities to have a look.
Pawan Kalyan finds fault with our producers cribbing about Tamil cinema invasion in Tollywood. He says that this shows our ‘inability’ to compete with them. He believes that our producers never tried to penetrate into Tamil market.“When good films are made and dubbed in Tamil, they have really clicked. Shiva, Geetanjali and Ankusham were big hits in Tamil too. Later our producers always tried to sell off remake rights and stopped exploring that market. Whereas Tamil film people have the penetrating ability and they were able to capture our market,” Pawan said.He quoted Magadheera movie and told that if that film was made in Tamil, it would certainly had a great run in Telugu too. Delaying that movie’s release in Tamil didn’t make any sense to him, he told.

The frenzy that the Tamil song ‘Why this Kolaveri Di…’ has been causing needs no introduction. The best place to see that is the YouTube site and now, another angle has emerged for that. Well, many are trying to see if ‘Kolaveri Di..’ can beat the record of the other hit number ‘Charlie Bit My Finger…’.‘Charlie bit my finger…’ was uploaded in 2007 and is currently in the mark of 39 crore hits. And ‘Kolaveri Di…’ was uploaded two weeks ago and it has already crossed the 1 crore mark. As such, the ‘Charlie bit….’ song is not seasonal, it is a live video and many parents keep showing it to their kids. But ‘Kolaveri di…’ is for youth and that’s why the response and hits have been growing fast. While ‘Charlie…’ had no language barrier since it is English, it remains to be seen if ‘Kolaveri di..’ will cross it. The general opinion is Indians are little crazy when it comes to such songs and so their frenzy might take the song beyond ‘Charlie…’
