For the past three months, nothing seemed to go right for Telugu film industry. Most of the film hardly made an impact and some of the films turned out to be major disappointments. However, it all changed on September 23 when Mahesh Babu’s Dookudu hit the screens. The film registered record openings, right from day one and went on to several records at several centres. So far, the producers claim that the film has grossed Rs 70 crores which is humungous and it’s by far the biggest hit for Mahesh Babu. On October 5th, the first look of Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming film Panjaa was revealed and so impressed were Pawan Kalyan’s fans that they couldn’t stop going gaga over the actor’s brand new look.

The beefed up body and the beard seemed to have hit the right chord and all eyes will be on the film’s trailer which is expected to be aired on Diwali. A day later, on October 6th, NTR’s Oosaravelli had released in record number of theatres across the state and the US. As is the case with other NTR’s films, the openings were phenomenal. The film collected Rs 15.75 crores on day 1 as per the producer and it’s the best opening ever in a single day in Telugu cinema. These three films seem to have lifted the spirits of everyone in the film industry and also the audience. With several big budget films and big stars’ films lined up for releas over the next few weeks, it certainly looks like Telugu film industry can expect the good run to continue in the near future as well.

Logic Behind 1800 Theatres Of 'Oosaravelli'

When it was announced that ‘Oosaravelli’ was released across 1800 theatres in Andhra Pradesh, many joked. They said in AP only 1500 theatres are active. From a distance it might be true but then there is logic behind the way the number of theatres is counted.

Logic is there are many countries like Australia, US, UK, Africa, Gulf and other countries worldwide wherein the rights have been bought, so it is impossible to count by number. For example, ‘Dookudu’ released in 21 theatres in north India and it is heard that producers also didn’t know for three days.

In AP state ‘Dookudu’ touched 617 while ‘Oosaravelli’ touched 620. And with places like Bangalore, Mysore, Gulbarga, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Cochin also screening the film, who can give the exact count. On the other hand, the multiplexes give the count on the basis of screenings. Some theatres only have 1 show, can that be counted.
 Some theatres in other states and countries count 4 shows as 4 screens. So, it is hard to give the count exactly. Once rights are sold it is upto the distributors to release in how many theatres they want. Finally, whatever count they give tends to get recorded. So, maybe the exact count within Andhra Pradesh is possible but giving overall count in exact numbers is not.

Has NTR Used Tamannah Physically??

After watching ‘Oosaravelli’, whether anyone has liked anything or not, one thing seems to have connected with them strongly.

In the film, Tamannah offers Rs 1 crore to NTR to kill the killers of her brother, sister-in-law and their kids. But along with that, she gives another offer as well.

Tamannah requests NTR to use her physically if required. In the entire film, this is one dialogue youth are liking a lot. Only after Tamannah says she can be used, NTR takes the ‘Supari’ in ‘Oosaravelli’.

Sonia Secret Night With Mahesh Babu

She is called the noodle haired beauty and though she has done limited films, she made her presence felt. She is none other than Sonia of ‘Happy Days’ ‘Vinayakudu’ fame and recently she was seen in the hit movie ‘Dookudu’. Buzz is that this dusky  beauty had a secret fling with Mahesh Babu.

In ‘Dookudu’, Sonia has the scene where she mentions in phone that she is getting tempted looking at Mahesh not knowing he is Telugu. That scene worked well as comedy. However, sources say she had that same temptation off the screen too.
 Unit members reveal “Sonia was asking Mahesh ‘I want to kiss you once please please’. After a point, it came to the stage of begging. After a lot of begging, Mahesh finally said okay. And the thing to note is he didn’t go forward after Sonia kissed him. Usually, others will not leave this chance but with Mahesh it is different. Anyways, Sonia satisfied her happiness by kissing Mahesh.” The final twist is, many friends of Sonia are feeling jealous about her lucky chance.

NTR Imitating Mahesh Babu

When Junior NTR started off his career in cinema, there was a lot of emotional intensity and adrenalin pumping in his characters and performances. However, some of his recent movies are showing him to be underplaying his character. This has happened after ‘Yamadonga’.

Also, he has changed his styling and is giving a laidback performance. But many are saying that according to his image and energy levels, if he does it with emotional adrenalin only then it gives a perfect impact. By underplaying his role, public is not getting what they want from NTR.
 Many are now saying “NTR seems to be imitating Mahesh Babu by going soft in his expressions and body language. But by doing so, he is doing a mistake. Mahesh has a class appeal but NTR has got strong impact with the masses. It is important that he raises his energy levels and ups the intensity quotient. Otherwise, it will become hard for the audience to connect. Earlier, his performance used to cover up for any flaws in the story or scripting but now those flaws are becoming visible.” Hope Young Tiger is realizing that.

Dookudu Remake Rights in Namrata purse?

Did Mahesh Babu take Hindi remake rights in excess to his regular remuneration for Dookudu? The current dealings give us the same idea. Right now Mahesh's wife Namrata is dealing with the Bollywood filmmakers about this remake rights. She has been contacting Salman Khan's aides for some time, says Bollywood buzz.

Namrata took the initiative and contacted Bodyguard producer Atul Agnihotri, who is brother in law of Salman Khan. She had talks with Salman Khan's sister Alvira and she is expected to come to Hyderabad to seal a deal. A bollywood website stated that Alvira would meet Namrata about the Dookudu remake rights deal.
Why is Namrata dealing with this when there are three producers for Dookudu apart from Mahesh's brother Ramesh Babu as presenter? Looks like Mahesh Babu took away the Hindi remake rights of this film in addition to his regular remuneration. Working with fairly new producers will earn you extra bucks sometimes, aha! 

Venkatesh voice over for Rajamouli Eega

Rajamouli’s experimental commercial film Eega is fast approaching the finish mark. This film will be ready for release by next summer as it will involve so much graphics work. Meanwhile Rajamouli is adding extra attractions for this movie.

The latest addition to Eega is Venaktesh! The superstar will give voice over for this film. Samantha, Nani and Sudeep are playing lead roles in this film which has a graphically created Housefly (eega) as the principal character.
Suresh Babu is presenting this film and hence he roped in his brother to add the star attraction for this movie. Eega started off as a medium budget film but the estimated amount has been almost doubled now says the buzz. Once again Rajamouli has to show how big his brand name can sell to make this film a commercial hit.

Naga Chaitanya Macho Look

Nagarjuna's son Naga Chaitanya has some features of his handsome dad but he totally didn't inherit his charm and good looks. Chaitanya is an average looking hero with an average built. Although he is twenty five years old, he looks much younger. He looks like an intermediate student and therefore action scenes and heavy dialogs don't suit him.

We have seen him turning a laughing stock in Dhada where he did a larger than life role. With all the negative feedback, Naga Chaitanya is now working out vigorously to look macho. There won't be much change in his physique in his immediate release Bejawada but there will be a considerable change in the way he looks in Autonagar Surya.
There is a huge difference in his physique now which shows that all the work outs are paying off. However, the boyish charm in his face is still there which would take some time to vanish. Actor Nitin also faced similar problem when he wanted to shift his image to a mass hero from lover boy. Nitin is still facing the problem and we should wait and see if Naga Chaitanya can shed off those 'pilla' looks in the near future.
