It is also closing in on the box-office success of the movie it has been inspired by. Dabangg had grossed over Rs 173 crore, which catapulted it into the league of the top five Bollywood blockbusters.” said India’s leading business daily, Business Standard.

GabbarSingh Empowers Tollywood at BoxOffice

Gabbar Singh,Telugu remake of the Salman Khan-starrer Bollywood blockbuster Dabangg has taken the box office by storm.The power-packed film has become the biggest grosser for a Telugu film, collecting a staggering Rs 128.75 crore in just three weeks (till June 1) in the domestic and global market together. It is also closing in on the box-office success of the movie it has been inspired by. Dabangg had grossed over Rs 173 crore, which catapulted it into the league of the top five Bollywood blockbusters.
Gabbar Singh was made with a budget of Rs 30 crore and released on 2,857 screens worldwide, which made it one of the widest distributed Telugu films."It’s an out-and-out show reel of Pawan Kalyan. We expect the exhibitors to rake in the moolah in the weeks to come" says Bandla Ganesh, the film’s producer.
The last Telugu films that made waves were Mahesh Babu’s Dookudu,which grossed Rs 83.15 crore in the first 21 days, and Ramcharan Teja’s Magadheera which garnered Rs 90 crore in the same period. Om Prakash, a Telugu film trade analyst, said, "The character has caught the fancy of fans. The film has created an all-time record so far and will keep the cash registers ringing."
Last weekend, Gabbar Singh crossed $1 million (about Rs 5.5 crore) at the US box office. In its opening weekend in the US, the movie collected Rs 4.13 crore ($765,373). These are the numbers that any big Bollywood hero take happily for that matter. The movie was released on 43 screens in the US, with the per screen average working out to Rs 9.61 lakh (or $17,799). GabbarSingh has showed power of Tollywood and it's audience to the box office at national stage. Let us see how it performs in coming weeks.

Adhinayakudu Gets a weak reception

After going through endless turmoil under production and post production, Adhinayakudu finally got released on Friday. Despite raising curiosity with political dialogues, Adhinayakudu didn’t open big at the box office. However, Adhinayakudu got better openings compared to Balakrishna’s Parama Veera Chakra. The talk and reviews for this film are not encouraging though. Balakrishna fans like it but other sections of audiences are not pleased with the content. This is an age of entertainers and only such movies are doing well. Hence, Adhinayakudu which is high on politics and family drama isn’t getting the attention of entertainment seekers.

Stylish Star Allu Arjun is going to act under the direction of stylish direction Surender Reddy. Shooting of this untitled movie will start from June 12. Nallamalapu Bujji will be producing this movie under the banner of Sr Lakshmi Narasimha Productions. Vakkantham Vamsi has already written the story and Allu Arjun seems to be satisfied with the script. Allu Arjun is currently busy with the shooting of his forthcoming film 'Julaayi' with Trivikram Srinivas.

The duo is going to tie the knot on June 14 and the wedding, which is already being touted as one of the most lavish weddings ever, has already become the talk of the town. A leading newspaper has reported that Ram Charan’s relatives and close friends like Allu Arjun, Tamannaah and Shriya Saran are going to dance, apart from many other celebs, on stage at the Sangeet Ceremony on June 11. Some days ago, it was heard that ntr's next project after 'Baadshah',  would be produced by Kodali Nani and Harish Shankar would direct this movie.The movie has been titled tentatively as 'M.L.A.'. This movie deals with the political issues.Here is the latest gossip about this project. If the reports are to be believed, producer Kodali will be opted out of this project. Dil Raju is likely to take over this project. Sources say political factors are responsible for the sudden change of the producer of the movie. This movie will go to floors in the month of September.

Rowdy Rathore @ Rs.29.8 Cr in 2 days

It seems that viewers are liking Akshay Kumar in his action hero avatar in "Rowdy Rathore", which earned Rs.29.8 crore on the first two days. "Rowdy Rathore" is Akshay's widest release so far on 2,800 screens in the country, said a statement. Made on a budget of Rs.45 crore, the film released Friday and grossed Rs.15.10 crore on the opening day. Directed by Prabhu Deva and co-produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala, the film marked Akshay's return to a full-fledged action role after seven years. Apart from entertaining audiences with raw action, Akshay is seen romancing Sonakshi Sinha in the film.
