Naga Chaitanya’s Gauravam to go on floors in January

It’s official. Naga Chaitanya will be acting in Radha Mohan’s bilingual film titled Gauravam. Few weeks ago, there were reports that Radha Mohan, the director of Aakashamantha and Gaganam, was in talks with Naga Chaitanya for a new film titled Gauravam which is touted to be a family drama. The film will go on floors in January, 2012. And S S Thaman is going to compose the music for the film. More details about the film will be announced soon.
Naga Chaitanya’s next two films, Bezawada and Autonagar Surya are action dramas and his decision to star in Radha Mohan’s film seems to be a conscious decision to mix up the genres and don different roles.

Siddarth’s two songs in ”Oh My Friend” have become popular

Not many are aware that Siddarth is an accomplished playback singer. Since 2006, in almost every movie of his, he has contributed to at least one song or more. In Bommarillu, he sang Appudo Ippudo. In Aata it was Ninnu Choostontae. In Oye and Baava he sang the title songs. And in his latest film Oh My Friend he has lent his voice to two numbers – “My Daddy’s pockets & Sri Chaitanya Junior College”.
In the southern film industry it is hard to recollect one hero in the recent past who could sing like Sid does. Coming back to the movie “Oh My Friend” the real chartbuster though is “Aalochana Vasthanane”. The song , clips of which are available on the net, is a real hummer and beautifully picturized as well. Here is hoping that this movie ends Sid’s poor show in the box office.

South Indian Artists’ Association noble gesture to Senior artistes

It is heartening to see the manner in which Kollywood is planning to take care of senior artistes. The South Indian Artists’ Association has appealed to chief minister J Jayalalithaa to allot at least one acre in Chennai to build an old age home for senior artists in the industry. Association president R Sarathkumar said, “We expect a positive reply from the state government. We have promised the government to build, operate and maintain the old age home on our own. Many members have agreed to fund the project.” This was mooted after actor Mohan lodged a complaint with the cops on his son wherein he sought action against the latter for deserting him.
Talking about the facilities of the old age home, Sarath Kumar said, “We are offering the pension through the Nadigar Sangam Charitable Trust, which is a sister concern of our association. The old age home will have accommodation for about 300 elderly people. There will be at least two doctors, four nurses on call and separate play area for their entertainment.” Can something similar be expected for our senior artistes too?

Vidya Balan sizzles in Silk Smitha based biopic

Vidya Balan seems to have wrapped herself thoroughly in Silk’s character. To those of you who are not aware, Silk has an Andhra connection. Born Vijayalakshmi in a poor family in Eluru, she ran off from a failed marriage to Chennai and was discovered by Vinu Chakravarthy who renamed her Smitha and cast her in odd roles. But her matinee moment came in the 1979 Tamil film Vaendi Chakkram, where she was cast as the character Silk. The name stuck as did the notorious image of a sex bomb. From then on Silk Smitha went on to star in 450 films in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. But stability and love eluded her life and Silk Smitha committed suicide in 1996, at a relatively young age.
It is these complex shades that Vidya Balan is portraying and the actress admitted that Silk’s journey was an amazing one considering her background and time she lived in. The song Oh La La is already a chart buster and if sources close to the movie (Dirty Picture) are to be believed quite a few feathers in South will be ruffled once the movie hits the screens in December.

It’s my Love Story to clash with Oh My Friend

Dil Raju – Siddharth’s Oh My Friend is gearing up for all 1’s release, i.e. 11-11-11. This is a youthful film targeted at the teenagers and college going youth. Another such film gearing up for release on the day is It’s my Love Story, directed by Madhura Sridhar, who directed Sneha Geetham earlier.
It is a love story between a computer game designer and fashion designer. Aravind Krishna and Nikitha are playing the lead roles in IMLS. Focus would be on Oh My Friend as it has big names to draw the attention of audience. So, it would be a big test for Its my Lovestory to stand against it.
Both the films are of same genres and targeted at the same section of audience. Hence, this would make an interesting clash, even though IMLS will have less scope to get a good opening and have a wide release.

RamCharan - Vinayak Movie Confirmed

Ram Charan, who is currently doing Racha under a relatively newcomer Sampath Nandi direction, will get back into experienced hands for his next film. Charan's next film will be directed by VV Vinayak, if the sources are to be believed. Although there has been talk about a film in this combination, it was confirmed only recently.
Chiranjeevi heard the script narrated by writer Akula Shiva and gave a go ahead to him and Vinayak. Ram Charan too is happy with the way the final script has shaped up. Earlier there was talk that he is not so happy with Akula Shiva's story. A new version is ready now and Charan is satisfied with it.

This film will go to sets soon. Charan also agreed to do a film for Dil Raju under Paidipally Vamsi direction. So 2012 will be a busy year for Ram Charan as he will not have to waste time waiting for the right scripts like he did after Magadheera and Orange.

Trisha play Mahesh Babu's sister-in-law

After playing the love interest of Mahesh Babu in 'Athadu' and 'Sainikudu', Trisha will be playing the role of his sister-in-law in the film 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu'.
One of the best known hit pairs between a hero and heroine in the recent past, will soon be back on screen. The people we're talking about is Victory Venkatesh and hot beauty Trisha. Earlier, they have delivered hits like 'Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule', 'Namo Venkatesa' and also teamed up for the film 'Ganga - The Bodyguard', which is scheduled to release in November. And again, Trisha has been roped to play the role of Venkatesh's wife in this multi-starrer film directed by Srikanth Addala('Kotha Bangarulokam' fame).

As both Venky and Trisha are known to be a hit pair, Dil Raju wants to cash on this combination. But the question is, what would be the reaction of fans when they come across, Mahesh Babu addressing Trisha as Vadina. Wait for reaction, till the release of this crazy project!!!

Mahesh Babu in the best phase of his career

Lookslike Superstar Mahesh Babu is planning to get rid of the 'Lazy' Actor tag. Yes, It's true!

The last few years have been a nightmare for the fans of this Tollywood prince, as Mahesh has the habit of taking 2-3 years to complete a film. He took a gap of almost 3 years after 'Athidi' to come up with an average entertainer 'Khaleja'.
Things were no the same, all the time. Mahesh has realized his mistake and is now looking forward to do atleast 2-3 films in a year. He is asking the directors to come up with good script to have his callsheets and the filmmakers too were more than willing to work with the superstar.

Currently, Mahesh is shooting for 'The Businessman' with Puri, which is slated to release in January 2011. He joins the shoot of multi-starrer film 'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimaley Chettu' in January, and this film will hit the screens in summer 2011. Mahesh will join the shoot of Sukumar's film from April to release it for Dussehra. And films with Rajamouli, Boyapati Seenu and Santhosh Sivan ('Urumi' fame) are in the pipeline.

As per reliable sources, Mahesh's call sheets were blocked for the next couple of years. All these developments were a good sign for the Industry and fans were relishing the joy of hearing such great things about their hero. Great going Superstar!!!
