Samantha in Controversy for Siddharth Film!!!

Tollywood latest sensation Samantha is in the news for wrong reasons. The actress has freshly landed in a controversy for apparently choosing to walk out from Bellamkonda Suresh’s upcoming movie directed by Nandi Reddy (Ala Modalaindi fame). Samantha is supposed to be paired up with Siddharth and the actress has reportedly taken an advance for the movie. However, her dates have clashed with that of Venky - Mahesh's SVSC and Samantha could not accommodate her dates to the latter. Producer Bellamkonda Suresh has complained in this connection and took this matter to the Producers Council & also MAA to resolve the matter.

Trisha grooves with NTR for Dammu

A day after the launch of Bodyguard’s audio, Trisha has joined the crew of her upcoming film Dammu. She began shooting for a song in the film and since it’s the first time she’s grooving along with NTR, the actress was pretty excited about the shoot. “Shooting a peppy number with Tarak. What a brilliant dancer he is (Thumbs up),” she tweeted. NTR, Trisha and Karthika are playing lead roles in this film which is touted to be a mass entertainer. Boyapati Srinu is directing the film and Alexandar Vallabha is producing it. Keeravani’s tunes for this film are said to be mind blowing. The film is currently being shot in Hyderabad and plans are being made to release the film in summer, 2012.

Director for New Records with Pawan Kalyan

Despite pawan kalyan going through a rough patch in career from a very long time, he has the ability to bounce back very strongly if any of our directors utilize his image to the fullest. One man who seems to be central subject on everyone’s table these days is Harish Shankar. Yes, he is the director of upcoming Pawan’s ‘Gabbar Singh,’ a remake to Sallu Bhai’s blockbuster Bollywood flick ‘Dabangg.’

Audio Review @ Bodyguard – Routine fare from Thaman!!

Victory Venkatesh and Trisha are going to entertain you soon with ‘Bodyguard’. The movie has been directed by Gopichand Malineni and Bellamkonda Suresh is the producer. The audio album was launched yesterday at Shilpa Kala Vedika. Music has been scored by Thaman. Let us see how the songs are.

1.Song: Bodyguard
Artists: Baba Sehgal , Rahul Nambiar , Ramya
Lyrics: Bhaskarabatla Ravi Kumar

This is the title track of the movie and it is a very energetic number. This is a classic hero introduction song and the song is rendered with terrific energy by Baba Sehgal. Rahul Nambiar and Ramya lend good support. Bhaskarabatla Ravi Kumar’s lyrics are apt for the occasion. Thaman’s music is dominated by the synthesizer and drums. The song is easy to listen to and will be a good watch on screen.

2.Song: Hosannaa
Artists:Rahul Nambiar, Sri Vardhini
Lyrics: Anantha Sriram

This is a romantic duet and Anantha Sriram has penned the lyrics. Rahul Nambiar has done a good job with the vocals but Sri Vardhini is simply outstanding. There are many subtle variations in her performance and it is nice to listen to. Thaman’s music is good, but one does get the feeling that the music sounds a little familiar. Overall, a good song to listen to and ample scope during picturization for Venkatesh to come up with his trademark walk behind the heroine in exotic foreign locales.

3.Song: Oh My God
Artists: Geetha Madhuri , Bindu, Sudha, Parnika
Lyrics: Anantha Sriram.

This is a song where the heroine laments about the stubborn and cold nature of the ‘Bodyguard’. This song will be set on the heroine and her friends with Venkatesh probably providing some tough poses in the background. The lyrics penned by Anantha Sriram are good and humorous. Geetha Madhuri and gang have done a good job with the vocals. The song will look good on screen and you can expect a slightly humorous picturization. Thaman’s music is ok and once again, it is heavy on the synthesizer and percussion instruments (like drums)

4.Song: Yevvaro
Artists: Karthik
Lyrics: Sri Mani

This is a solo number that is rendered well by Karthik. The song is about the hero’s confusion and eagerness to find out the identity of the anonymous woman who keeps calling him over the phone. Sri Mani’slyrics are good. Thaman’s music is adequate and does the job. Decent song overall.

5.Song:Jiya Jale
Artists: Haricharan, Hanini
Lyrics: Rama Jogayya Sastry

This almost sad romantic duet starts of well with a beautiful hum. The vocals are taken care of well by Haricharan and Hanini. Hanini’s voice is soft and melodious and is perfectly suited for the occasion. Rama Jhogayya Sastry’s lyrics are decent. Thaman’s music is adequate. Nothing spectacular. The song is ok to listen to.

6. Song: Enduko
Artists: Shwetha Pandit, Thaman and Haricharan
Lyrics: Rama Jogayya Sastry

This is a short 2 minute number that has a superb performance from Shwetha Pandit. The song describes the heroine’s sadness at the turn of events and her inner turmoil. Thaman and Haricharan lend good support. Music is dominated by the synthesizer. The song will most likely be used as a filler during some key sequences in the film.

Verdict :

This is an album that is pretty decent but if offers nothing spectacular or outstanding for the listener. The songs will just about complement the movie, but they do not have the power to elevate it. Thaman is getting repetitive and his music is dominated by the synthesizer and percussion instruments (drums etc). Unless he gets in more variety, his music will start getting monotonous. The songs have been nicely set up for a trademark Venkatesh style of picturization. The title track ‘Bodyguard’ and ‘Hosannaa’ are my picks from this album.

Prabhas’s @ Stunning New Look!!!

Rebel star Prabhas, who is riding high on the successes of Darling and Mr. Perfect is currently doing Rebel in Lawrence direction. Another film which marks the debut of Koratala Siva as director too has hit the sets recently.

After he is done with both these films, Prabhas would take up Rajamouli’s movie, which might start rolling from June/July. Prabhas has lost few kilos now and is looking extremely cool with his slim look. He has surprised one and all with his new avatar at Bodyguard audio launch.
This look is for Rebel movie and of course he would look the same in Koratala Shiva’s film which is also being simultaneously made. Rajamouli told that he hasn’t thought about the character sketch of Prabhas in his movie, and hence he denied that Prabhas’s new look is connected to his film.

Venkatesh fears Mahesh Mania!!

Venkatesh's film Bodyguard is slated for release on January 12. Producer Bellamkonda Suresh surprised everyone by stating that he would release this film in overseas, 3 days prior to AP release. No one had a clue about why he is doing this.

When we tried to find out the truth behind it, overseas distributors of Bodyguard requested Bellamkonda Suresh for an early release as Mahesh Babu's Businessman is coming on Jan 11. Mahesh's craze in overseas zone need not be explained now. He could easily blow away any opponent irrespective of the talk.
So if Bodyguard messes with Businessman in overseas, then the distributors will have to pay the price for it. Hence, they are opting for an early release. If Bodyguard could get positive feedback before Businessman hits the marquee, then chances are there for the former to survive the serious threat.

Top 3 First Day Collections in Tollywood

The whoofing opening weekend collections of 'Panjaa' have brought the debate on - Which Hero's film holds the record of Highest First Day Collections in Tollywood?
Here are the list of Top 3 First Day Collections in Tollywood:
Oosaravelli First Day Collections - 15.46 Crores.
Panjaa First Day Collections - 13.5 to 14.5 Crores.
Dookudu First Day Collections - 12.56 Crores.
Oosaravelli still holds the First Day record with a margin of Rs 1 crore. The factors which helped this film are its wide range release (1800 screens - Biggest for any Tollywood film till date) and the combo of Jr NTR-Surender Reddy-Devi Sri Prasad.
Panjaa have taken humongous openings just for one reason - Pawan Kalyan. The film has no big names other than Powerstar himself. It is Director Vishnuvardhan's debut film in Tollywood and also released with less number of prints when compared with the other two biggies. Notably, the film has stood at No 2 position, despite all the negative talk. What will be the numbers if Pawan's film get unanimous hit talk? Unimaginable!!!
Dookudu shattered all existing records with unanimous positive talk and its wide range release. Mahesh Babu's popularity, his stamina in Overseas and the crazy combination of Mahesh Babu and Srinu Vytla has helped in fetching record openings.
Although Oosaravelli holds the First Day record, the First Week record is still with Dookudu. Let's see whether Panjaa crosses it or not!!!
