Sharwanand film collects Rs. 40 cr. in Tamil

Engeyum Eppodhum is making waves in Tamil.  Interestingly, the film stars our own Sharwanand in a main role. (The film's other leads are Jay and Anjali and Ananya).  Released in 150 theaters across Tamil Nadu, the film has grossed a whopping Rs. 40 cr. in just 30 days.

Buoyed by its success, the makers are planning to release the film in Telugu on a bigger scale.  Titled Journey in Telugu, it will be released by Suresh Kondeti here.  Sahithi has given his best shot for the film.  He lends both dialogue and lyrics for this movie.

Made on a shoestring budget of Rs. 5 cr., the film was expected to cross Rs. 15 cr.  Defying every one's modest estimations about the movie, it went on to become a super hit.

Suresh Kondeti says that the film is going to create waves in Andhra Pradesh too.  Music is by Sathya.  It is directed by Saravanan.

RGV living on Mahesh & Puri!

Those where the days when Ramgopal Varma was treated nothing less than a creator! His innovative film making has changed the face of Tollywood and he is still enjoying that respect till this hour despite the numerous failures. One thing that is making diehard followers of Varma these days to get worried about is his ‘Parasite’ mode of loving on the names of Puri Jagannath and Mahesh Babu.

‘During the times when his urge for publicity comes out uncontrollable, he targets any of the popular celebrities in market. For the moment, Mahesh Babu and Puri are the names he is making use of to make a living. Luckily a section of media whose trumpet forever blows for RGV are coming out with new grapevines,’ opined a vexed film analyst. Tamil Actor Gave Shock to Racha Unit

We are aware of Tamil Actor Ajmal ('Rangam' fame),playing a pivotal role in Ram Charan's 'Racha'. Ajmal has shocked the 'Racha' unit members with his terrific work.  Recently, the young actor was given a three pages dialogue and to everyone's surprise, he has done it in single take.

Notably, most of the Telugu speaking heroes are known for taking several re-takes even for a single dialogue, which eventually increases the cost of production. "Ajmal has already shown what he is capable of in 'Rangam'. "I think, our young crop of heroes should take a leaf out from Ajmal's book," said a film critic.
If the positive buzz is to be believed, Ajmal will give a tough fight to other actors in the Industry. Great going Ajmal!

Lakshmi Rai ready to Entertain on Field

Voluptuous beauty Lakshmi Rai is acting as the brand ambassador for Kerala CCL Team. The actress assures that she will give all the required support to the franchise along with the entertainment factor.

"I like this sport very much. Usually, I will be glooming to the TV sets or prefer to watch it live in stadium, whenever we have cricket matches. Now, I have been choosen as the Brand Ambassador of the Kerala franchise, which makes me even more happy. Watch out for his love story

His love story seems to have got something in store. It's My Love Story will release on the 11th of November.  The Madhura Sreedhar-directed film Aravind and Nikitha in the leads.

The film is touted as a fresh, neat and touchingly romantic one.  Jayasudha the veteran actress went a step ahead to liken the hero to Mahesh.

The songs that were screened for a brief while, had that unique touch of freshness to them, they felt.  Speaking on the occasion, the director said that It's My Love Story is an all-out Telugu movie, given that the cast as well as the technical team all hail from Andhra Pradesh.

Anil Kashyap is the music director of the film.

All is well for Pawan Kalyan

Super Star Mahesh Babu scored a super hit with Dookudu after a string of disasters and proved his stamina at box-office. Now, the industry is looking forward to the release of Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Panjaa. Pawan who is due for a big hit is coming up with a tailor made subject in Panjaa. The film is touted to be a romantic-action entertainer.

As far as film nagar sources are concerned, the film has a very good positive talk and they are predicting that Pawan will re-create his magic at box-office with this film. Panjaais directed by Vishnuvardhan and produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Neelima Thirumalasetty.
Hope the film delivers and lives up to the expectations.

NTR as MLA in his next Movie!!!

NTR Jr is soon going to play ‘MLA’ in a film under Harish Shankar direction. MLA means Manchi Lakshanalunna Abbayi! This film was supposed to be made few years ago under Nallamalupu Bujji’s banner. It later got shelved due to unknown reasons.
 Now the buzz says that NTR and Harish Shankar are keen on starting this project. Kodali Nani and Vallabhaneni Vamsi are going to produce this film. Harish Shankar is currently busy with Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh. This film will be ready for release by next summer and he will start working on MLA after that.
NTR is currently doing Dammu movie and will be joining Srinu Vylta’s Mafia from January. Therefore, MLA has all chances to hit the sets in the latter half of 2012.

Allu Arjun and Ram Charan film on/off?

Some sections of media have been reporting that Ram Charan and Allu Arjun will soon star together in a film. There have been reports that Charan and Allu Arjun will feature in Dil Raju’s film directed byPaidipalli Vamsy.

Allu Arjun clarified that nothing is on at the moment regarding their combination flick. He said that “Charan and I would be more than happy to do a film together. But it will take some time. Finding a suitable story for both of us would be tough,” Arjun told.
Allu Arjun is recovering from the surgery done to his injured shoulder. He is looking forward to start working on his film under Trivikram direction.

Pawan Kalyan Panjaa teaser, merchandise details

Here comes Diwali gift for the fans of Power Star. The teaser of Power Star’s upcoming film Panjaa will have its release on October 26, on the occasion of Diwali. However, the theatrical trailer will be released on the audio release day itself. This news is posted by one of the producers of the film, Neelima Thirumalasetty on a social networking site.

She also said that the movie’s merchandise in the form of T-shirts, Caps, Tattoo’s and other stuff will be available from Diwali. The producers and the whole publicity team of Panjaa are putting great efforts and are coming up with innovative ideas to grab the eyeballs of the audience.

K and K are in Race for NTR

Shruti Hassan recently backed out of Junior NTR's movie Dammu due to dates problems. From then on the director and producer of this film are in search of an able replacement. Talk from the industry sources says that they are in talks with Kajal Agarwal, who is right now busy with Mahesh Babu's Businessman.

Kajal previously did Brindavanam with NTR, which was a very good hit. Therefore, director Boyapati Srinu feels that she would fill in the shoes of Shruti for Dammu. There is another heroine slot for this film which has been empty.
Radha's daughter, Josh baby Karthika is in race for that role. Even Hansika is in consideration for it but Karthika may bag it due to the fresh appeal. Hansika starred opposite NTR in Kantri earlier. With Simha up his sleeve, high expectations are riding on Boyapati Srinu for Dammu and he doesn't want to take a chance and has been roping in the best. 

Mahesh Babu's Bilingual With RGV?

With his recent offering ‘Dookudu’ becoming a hit and his upcoming project ‘The Businessman’ already generating a positive talk, Mahesh Babu has proved that he is indeed the Prince of Tollywood. Now, grapevine is making strong rounds about Mahesh’s foray into the big Bollywood as well.

While that is one side, here is another interesting discussion making rounds in filmnagar. It is heard that if all goes well then Mahesh could well be doing a bilingual and this would be with Ram Gopal Varma. Apparently, sources reveal that Mahesh has developed a lot of proximity with RGV since he has been shooting for ‘The Businessman’ in Mumbai.
 Recently, Ramu was part of a party which was reportedly hosted by Mahesh in Mumbai. Buzz is that both spent some quality time talking. Well, going by the grapevine and other talks, the project sounds to be a reality. And if that is true then it will surely be a crazy combination, say the cine folks.

Bad News for Allu Arjun Fans

Allu Arjun is inarguably the best dancer in business at the moment. Not just in Tollywood, he is the best in South India now. His close competitor Junior NTR hasn't done anything exceptional in the recent past to challenge Bunny's feats in Badrinath and Arya 2. Therefore, Allu Arjun is leading the lot at this point.
If Allu Arjun fans are expecting him to do outperform himself in his next movie, then they are in for disappointment. Why because Allu Arjun won't be doing any movements that strains his body now. He has undergone a shoulder surgery recently and is still recovering from it.
Although Allu Arjun didn't say anything about dances in his next film, he hinted that he can't take the risk in the near future by stating that he wants to keep his dream project on hold for some time. Allu Arjun is planning to do a dance based film for so long but said that he will only start that project when he is fully fit. Hence, we can assume that Allu Arjun won't be straining his body too much in his upcoming film directed by Trivikram Srinivas.

Overseas business for Telugu films is competing wuith that of Bollywood films. Mahesh Babu Dookudu is creating new records at USA box office with huge collections. The film is said to have collected $2.25 million in its complete 4 weeks run- highest ever grosser in Telugu film industry and running towards $3 million mark. It broke Magadheera s record of $ 1.28 million (lifetime business of the movie in USA) by huge margin.
Indian films that collected more than $ 3 million in North America are – 3 Idiots (6.54), My Name Is Khan (4.02), Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (3.29), Om Shanti Om (3.60).

Mahesh, NTR and Charan @ Who is next No.1?

With Mahesh Babu setting box office on fire with Dookudu, the discussion about the 'future no.1' resurfaced in media. There are certain factors that need to be 'checked' before declaring a number one hero. Delivering a blockbuster or two isn't enough for this.
First and foremost one is the consistency. Any hero should be consistent at the box office. Delivering one hit for five years isn't enough. A hero needs to be extremely consistent, say five hits out of six may be!

• A hero needs to prove his mettle in all the territories, be it Nizam, Andhra, Ceded and Overseas.
• Making films within short span of time
• Last but not the least, collections of a flop film shows the real power of a star.

Mahesh Babu, NTR and Ram Charan are the front-runners for the future number one spot considering their fan base, crowd pulling capabilities and etc. But none of them proved to check all the above. At the moment it is advantage Mahesh as he is riding high with Dookudu.If The Businessman and Seethamma Vakitlo... hit the bull's eye then it will be extremely tough for others to stop him from reaching the top! NTR too needs at least three big hits in a row to compete with Mahesh's current 'Dookudu'. Ram Charan is not as experienced as these superstars, but is blessed with the super solid fan base. He needs to work at quick pace and deliver huge hits to stay in the race.

Virodhi goes Indian Panorama

For a director who romped home the National Award for his very first film (Show), Virodhi's selection for Panorama doesn't come as any surprise.  The film starring Srikanth, which was released in cinemas in August, was expected to make it big in the film festival circuit.

The selection panel headed by Sai Paranjye, an eminent screenwriter-director, selected the movie based on its theme.  Virodhi's distinction is doubled by the fact that it is the only Telugu film in the list.

It is on a par with commercial Hindi films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara from Hindi.  Among the many Malayalam films, Urumi is one film with pan-Indian popularity.

In 2010, Prasthanam had bagged the honor.

Karthika to be love-paired with NTR

Karthika Radha is all set to play second fiddle to the first female lead in NTR's Dammu.  The actress' is going to be a full-fledged role in the film.

Dammu is a shot in the arm for the Rangam actress and is going to definitely prove big for her career at this juncture.

The dusky actress may fit the bill opposite NTR. That she has matured as an actor in the last few years, as evidenced by her studied performance in Rangam proves, will only help her this time around.

As a debutante, Karthika has no big luck with Josh.  Looks like Dammu will redeem her not-so-exciting career.

Kajal in NTR’s Dammu?

"FilmNews" reported yesterday that Shruti Haasan dropped out of Young Tiger NTR’s ‘Dammu’ due to date issues. The movie’s production schedule has been disrupted due to the development and the producers are rapidly searching for a replacement.

Filmnagar sources say that all eyes are now on Kajal Aggarwal, who had a good screen chemistry with NTR in Brindavanam. Kajal is currently busy with the shooting of ‘The Businessman’ starring Prince Mahesh Babu. The other contenders are Samantha and Tamanna but both of them are already very busy with quite a number of projects so it would be extremely difficult to accommodate one more big film.

The official announcement about a replacement should be out soon. Will Shruti’s exit be the lucky break that Kajal needs? Let us see how this issue plays out.

Bunny to debut in Bolly with Arya-2 remake

It is well-known that Sukumar had signed on the dotted line to direct the Hindi remake of Arya-2 (2009), to be produced by UTV.  The latest news is that Allu Arjun would play the main lead in the version.

The film would see him reprise the role of a selfless lover who is torn between his loyalty to his friend and his love for the girl.  The film's intelligent screenplay made it one of the most entertaining films in Arjun's career.

Allu Arjun's debut in Bollywood would be challenging for him as an actor.  His stylish dance moves are rare on the Indian screen, which puts him in good stead on the national stage.

The actor has two films on hand in Telugu.  The energetic dancer could steal the hearts of Hindi audience with his heart-rending portrayal of a selfless lover and a true friend and with his unbelievable dance.

Mahesh-Sukumar film from Jan. 2012

Director Sukumar's film with Mahesh Babu is being planned at a brisk pace.  The bound script is ready and all that the director is looking for is for Mahesh to become free from his current assignment, The Businessman.

After Mahesh is done with Puri Jagannadh's fim in December, he would start working for Sukumar's film as well as participate in the shooting of Dil Raju's production.

Coming back to Sukumar's film, there is lot of interest about his outing with the Prince.  Post-Dookudu, Mahesh is a phenomenal hero.  The question on every body's minds is: how is he going to present the superstar?  Is there going to be space for lots of action in the film?

As a star hero, he has never done the kind of roles that Suku has written so far.

The combination of Sukumar and Mahesh will be viewed with great interests.  If it can sparkle, it will be great.

రీల్‌ లైఫ్‌ నుంచి రియల్‌లైఫ్‌లో కలిసిమెలిసి ఉంటున్న జంట సిద్దార్థ్‌, శృతిహాసన్‌. వీరి గురించి రకరకాల కథలు వినడమేకానీ... చూడ్డానికి సినిమాలో చూడాల్సిందే. అనగనగా ఓ ధీరుడు చిత్రం తర్వాత వీరిద్దరూ కలిసి నటిస్తున్న చిత్రం 'ఓ మై ఫ్రెండ్‌'. 

ఈ చిత్ర కాన్సెప్ట్‌.. ఫ్రెండ్‌ అనే వ్యక్తి ఎలా ఉండాలనేది. ఇందులో ఇద్దరు స్నేహితులుగా ఉంటూ.. విడదీయలేని బంధంగా ముడిపడిన జంటగా సిద్దార్థ్‌, శృతి నటించారు. అయితే సినిమా ఆడియో వేడుక ఇటీవలే శిల్పకళావేదికలో జరిగింది. అంత పెద్ద హాలు ఏ పెద్ద హీరో చిత్రానికిగాను సరిపోదు. కానీ దిల్‌రాజు తను సినిమా షూటింగ్‌ తీసిన రెండు కాలేజీల నుంచి స్టూడెండ్స్‌ను ఆహ్వానించారు. 


వారంతా వచ్చేసరికి ఫంక్షన్‌లో కిక్‌ వచ్చింది. స్టేజీపై డాన్స్‌ ప్రోగ్రామ్‌లు నిర్వహించారు. వాటిని అనుగుణంగా శృతి, సిద్దార్థ్‌లు కుర్చీలో కూర్చొని మూమెంట్స్‌ ఇవ్వడం అందరినీ ఆహ్లాదపర్చింది. ఆ తర్వాత రెండు పాటలకు వీరిద్దరూ డయాస్‌పైకి వెళ్ళి తన్మయత్వంతో పాటలకు నృత్యం చేశారు. 

వారి హావభావాలను బట్టి ఇద్దరూ మాంచి లవర్స్‌గా కన్పించారు. వీరిని చూసి కుర్రకారు ఈలలు, గోలలు చేశారు. పెళ్ళెప్పుడు అంటూ నినాదాలు చేశారు. ఈ విషయాన్ని ఒకటిరెండు సార్లు అడిగి... సిద్దార్థ్‌ వినపడనట్లు బిహేవ్ చేసి... ఆమెతో చిందులు వేశాడు. శృతి మాట్లాడుతూ... సిద్దార్థ్‌ అంటే చాలా ఇష్టం. మంచి కో-ఆర్టిస్టు అంటూ కితాబిచ్చింది. అంతవరకేనా.. ఇంకేమైనా ఉందా.. అని అక్కడి కుర్రకారు పెద్దగానే అరిచారు.

Dasarath to direct Nagarjuna for second time

After bagging success with ‘Santosham’ in the year 2002, director Dasarath is now ready with an another family oriented storyline for Nagarjuna. It is said that Nagarjuna liked the concept of Dasarath so much that he immediately said ‘yes’ to sign for Dasarath’s movie. Nagarjuna is already having two more projects Rajanna and Dhamarukam in hand.

‘Santosham’ was their first movie together which bagged a marvelous response from audience and has won Nandi awards for Best Actor and Best Film Categories. It is believed that ‘Santosham’ was a comeback film for both Nagarjuna and Dasarath. This time too its going to be a super success as we all know that Dasarath is best in giving family oriented films and Nag fits very well for the script by Dasarath.

Mamta Mohandas to become a Mother

Mamta Mohandas is currently facing tough time these days. She is all set to act as a mother of two kids for her upcoming movie Naanum Ente Familiyum. K K Rajeev is debuting as director. Mamta says taking such role will never harm her image, I don't think acting as a mother of two will harm my image at all. Infact I love kids and enjoy the role of a working mother and a full-time wife. It is a character I can connect with and audience will relate to her. Ace actor Jayaram will be starring opposite to her.

The movie which is expected to release in January will be narrating a family story rich with comic sequences. She says, I'm a doctor and a mother of two girls. My character will be seen balancing both work and family with ease.

Gopichand is an action hero with adrenalin pumping up in veins during stunt scenes. Claps thunder in theatres when his aggression comes out bashign the goons. He is a best fit for such umage is now doign Mogudu besides Tapsee.
The angry looking star is worried for the sexy lady in his co star Taapsee. Apparently it is just for namesake film is titled as Mogudu while focus is going to be only on Taapsee because of her oomph factor. Gopichand fans are to approach makers requesting them to come up with Gopichand's solo posters as Taapsee is burning the eyes from one side.
