Venkatesh: Me and Mahesh doing Multi-starrer Film Soon

Venkatesh completed 25 years of his film career. Here is a special chit chat with him...
Your choice of films in future
"I have reached the age of 50. I would like to experiment now. I think, my best is yet to come. I'm ready to do villain role, if the script excites me"
On career highs and lows
"I don't see success and failure in that way. Everything in life happens for a reason. I was supposed to do the film 'Roja' under the direction of Maniratnam. I was to drop that film after getting injured at that time. The role was later done by Aravind Swamy. But, I still feel that because of that injury I was able to focus on wonderful scripts like Suryavamsham. So, I don't regret."
On Multi-starrer films
"I would like to do them. In fact, Dil Raju and Srikanth Addala are preparing a script which will have Me and Mahesh Babu in the lead. Both of us were keen to do the film. Few things are yet to be finalised and I hope final announcement will be out soon"
Did you ever felt entering film arena is a wrong choice?
"Yes. After 'Kaliyuga Pandavulu', there were 5 successive flops. At that period of time, I felt that. But, after that I delivered back-to-back hits. From then I never looked back".
Did you ever regreted for doing a film in your 25 years of film career?
"There are such instances. But, they can't be avoided. I have done such films due to some obligations".
Career Graph
"I have done 64 films till now. Almost 90% of my films have been success at the Box Office".
Future Films
"The shooting of Malayalam remake of 'Bodyguard' is slated to release soon. I have signed a film with Dasarth, one film in our Suresh Productions banner, Dil Raju's film. Next year I will be doing the film 'Vivekananda'."

History! Mega and Nandamuri Fans united

Undoubtedly, the biggest and the powerful rival gangs of Tollywood are none other than the fans associations of Mega Star and Nandamuri clan. Like the never meeting ends of a rail track, the clashes between them have fodder for many till yesterday. Check out the story now!

With top Nandamuri hero Balakrishna winning the Nandi award, all the black clouds on both side have vanished it looks. Apparently, toppers of the Mega team, Chiru and Pawan Kalyan have done their favors for Balakrishna and now it is the turn of fans. Rather than fighting among themselves, the fans of these two clans have decided to fight against evil collectively. The evil for them is none other than the creators of ‘ihatebalayya.com’ and ‘ihatechiru.com’ who have thrown mud against these top stars for their fun. After zeroing on a guy named Attili Rajender Reddy for creating an anti website against Balakrishna, investigations revealed that he is the one who created that hatred website against Chiru long back. Now, the fans are coming together to make the authorities against that Australian citizenship holding Telugu guy. This is definitely a positive note in Tollywood for the admirers of both the stars.

Story:

He decides to complete his graduation and goes to the city to join college. In the college, he sees Sruthi (Hansika) and falls in love with her. But Sruthi is scared. The reason is Bhavani (Sonu Sood), a noted goonda who has a strong desire for Sruthi and kills any man who approaches her. However, Seenu enters the scene and with his smartness, he not only wins the heart of Sruthi but also ensures Bhavani doesn't hurt him. But then, Rajanna (Jayaprakash Reddy) a more powerful and strong person than Bhavani is searching for Seenu. Why is he doing that? What happens to Seenu's love story? All this forms the rest of the story.

Performances:
Ram has given a powerhouse performance and entertains with his dances as well. Hansika looks sensuous and sweet but she is putting on weight, a check is needed on that. Aksha has got a significant role and she doesn't let down. Sonu Sood is yet another brilliant performer, he should be given good credit. Jayaprakash Reddy was good. Raghu Babu was funny, Brahmi was entertaining, Chandramohan and Srinivas Reddy did their bit as required. The others gave their contribution in a good way.
Highlights:
  • Ram’s performance and dance

  • Dialogues

  • Screenplay

  • Comedy

  • Two songs and background score

Drawbacks:
  • Dragged second half

  • Too many cinematic liberties

  • Storyline gives déjà vu feeling

Analysis:
It has always been proved that when the script and screenplay are handled very well and it is packed with good dose of comedy, the Tollywood audience will give thumbs up. When that happens, even flaws and reasoning are sidelined as the entertainment quotient matters. That’s what happened in this movie. With the right kind of comedy and timing of dialogues, the director has given a packed entertainer.
Though he has followed the Srinu Vytla formula, what matter is there is no idle moment and the film takes the audience through a breezy treat. Good technical values are another advantage that worked in this film’s favor.
Overall, the film has sufficient dose of mass, class and family elements. Success at box office looks inevitable. As the film ‘Dhada’ that released yesterday received negative talk and as there is no big film release for a few weeks, ‘Kandireega’ enjoys full meals at box office.

Verdict: Entertainer, recommended!
