160 Crs @ Racha + Dammu + Gabbar Singh

Taking the success of bid budgeted films into account in the Summer season, Tollywood filmmakers can proudly say that golden days of Telugu Cinema are back again.
The stupendous success of Racha, Dammu and Gabbar Singh at the Box Office has given new hope for Industry, which is in a slump from the past few years. It's the first time in the last decade or so, three big films of three big stars recorded consecutive hits.
The festival started with Ram Charan's Racha, which collected a share of Rs 55 crores to enter into Super hit caterory. Then came NTR's powerful entertainer Dammu, which collected a share of Rs 35 crores and become an above average grosser. Finishing touch has been given by Pawan Kalyan with a money spinner in the form of 'Gabbar Singh', which could end up collecting anywhere around Rs 70 crores in its total run. With this three flicks, a mammoth share of Rs 160 crores has been generated. Altogether, this is a very good sign for Tollywood!

Will Nandamuri @ Fans forgive Jr NTR?

Jr NTR and Nandamuri fans go hand-in-hand and everyone believed that their bonding is inseparable. But now it appears like all that is a history and the people are forced to accept the reality that anything can happen at anytime.
Especially after Vallabhaneni Vamsi's (Tarak friend) warm hug with rival camp leader YS Jagan, the equations between the actor and the fans changed.  Reports of Balakrishna fury over Vamsi-Jagan's incident, SMS campaigning by fans against Dammu and the removal of flexes & cutouts of the actor has widened the gap.
Although NTR broke the silence by declaring that Vamsi is just a producer for one of his films (Adhurs) and nothing more to him, the fans and cadre weren't in a position to believe him. The TDP loyalists still hadn't forgot the incident where the actor skipped TDP Yuva Gharjana in Guntur before 2009 polls as party was against giving ticket to Vallabhaneni Vamsi. Will Nandamuri fans forgive Jr NTR is a million dollar questio

Jr NTR @ Speaks Atlast !

After keeping his fans and state politics lovers wait for days, Junior faced the camera to reveal his inside. Nandamuri fans and Telugdesam lovers are finally happy with his words.
Jr.NTR says that he is quite amused after hearing that his name has surfaced in the issues pertaining to party. 'I'm born into this party and I'll stay with it till my last breathe', confirms Junior. The actor explained that he is too young to come into active politics now but will still stand by his decision of supporting TDP like he did it through his campaigning in 2009.
'Like every person in this state, I'm also a big fan of legend NTR's ideals and vision. Dad and me  will continue supporting our party', the actor responded regarding the rumour that he is joining another political group. This interview has finally cleared black clouds over TDP that Nandamuri family is avoiding the yellow flag due to some differences.

Dil Raju @ Recovers Dammu Loss with GabbarSingh

Dil Raju, the mega producer is on cloud nine now though there are reports that he lost a big chunk of investment through Jr.NTR's 'Dammu'. Check out the story.
According to insiders, Dil Raju lost vast amounts invested on 'Dammu', as the movie failed to reach expectations. Now that he got the rights of 'Gabbar Singh' for Nizam area and the movie garnering a blockbuster talk on day one, sources revealed that this mega producer cum distributor is on cloud nine. He could recover all his losses through this hit as he is the unofficial distributor of GS in many areas.
Earlier, he distributed both 'Racha' and 'Dammu', where the former movie has given him a decent profit and the second one pushed him into underground. He has emptied more theatres of 'Dammu' to push in 'Gabbar Singh' for extra shows and thereby extra profits, says a source.

NTR's @ dual role in 'Baadshah'?

Young tiger Junior NTR has begun to make headlines again after his much hyped movie 'Dammu' became an average product. This time, the news is about his bearded look and some felt it was 'Dammu' shock and few others mentioned it was due to some internal clash with Babai Balayya.
Anyways, here is something reliable. The bearded look is for his new movie 'Baadshah' and that is not the only thing. Buzz is that Junior is likely to have a completely different avatar in the film which is being kept as a secret. Rumors made it that Junior is playing a dual role in Baadshah, One with a rugged and rough attire and the other striking with Srinu vaitla style satires. This is the idea of the jackpot hit director Srinu Vaitla.
The talented duo of Gopi Mohan and Kona Venkat are sharpening their pens to come up with a powerful script and give the much needed success for NTR. The music is by Thaman and the saucy seductress Kajal Agarwal is the leading lady. NTR comedy timing was awesome in Adhurs under VV Vinayak direction. Now it is a Srinu Vaitla Movie and one can expect how NTR will be shown in Baadshah.

Pawan @ is not a Pinch Hitter!

Ramcharan’s ‘Rachcha’ and Junior NTR’s ‘Dammu’ are massive star releases of this season which are almost declared as commercially safe ventures. While ‘Dammu’ raked a record first week share, ‘Rachcha’ is going moderate even in the fifth week. The strange similarity in both of these flicks is that, it’s the star power of heroes which ran the show minting money for producers and distributors. Content wise, both were weak yet they created new milestones. Away from these two, well wishers of Tollywood are expecting ‘Gabbar Singh’ to be a mass treat but not with as many flaws as above two had in them. However, Harish Shankar is proficient in working out the things with more of common sense as seen in ‘Mirapakay’ or ‘Shock.’ In addition, pawan kalyan gives more than what a director wants and ‘Dabangg’ is a proved subject. So, there is every possibility for ‘Gabbar Singh’ to have a long standing innings at BO unlike the pinch hitters Cherry & Tarak.

Dammu @ Overseas A Loser!!

Though the fact remains that there are many NRIs across the world who love nativity and commercial Telugu movies, there is a limit point to that. And in the USA, mass masala and violence filled Telugu cinemas are not entertained. That is the key reason why ‘Dammu’ turned out to be thumbs down in the overseas box office. Though the film got negative talk many thought it was a disaster because it happened with NTR’s previous movie ‘Shakti’. But fortunately, ‘Dammu’ had some consolation as it got some revenue but that is not even a fair collection. Whatever has been is just a fluke. That is why, the producers should distribute their own films overseas but not lure the distributors in the name of crazy combinations etc. Here are the breakups of ‘Dammu’ across various locations.
USA-Officially Recorded:
Thur(Apr 26th): $87K (Premiers in most of the centers)
Fri(Apr 27th): $83K
Sat(Apr 28th): $79K
Sun(Apr 29th): $24K
Mon (Apr 30th) to Thur (May 3rd) – 10K
Total Officially Reported Gross for 8 days: $283K.
As per various exhibitors and distributors, non-recorded centers gross is $80K(approx..) and as per current trend, It might collect another 25K to 30K from its 2nd week onwards.
USA total gross(Recorded and Non Recorded) - $393K.
Total USA Distributor / Exhibitor share  - $260K = Rs 1.3cr
NON-USA
As per our sources, Australia recorded a collection of Rs 7 lakhs, UK– Rs 12 lakhs, Gulf- Rs 22 lakhs and other places- Rs 4 lakhs
Analysis:
Looking at the worldwide scenario, ‘Dhammu’s share stands at approximately – Rs 1.80 crores which is very good in any terms considering the content and genre of the movie which has too many MASS elements & Violence. ‘Dhammu’ was bought for Rs 2.40 crores (2.1 cr copyrights+ Rs 30 lakhs for prints, publicity, Digital expenses and shipping charges etc) so a LOSS of Rs 60 lakhs is confirmed.

Pawan Fans @ Controlling Dammu Piracy

Power Star pawan kalyans fans seem to be following the footsteps of their hero's attitude, aims and objectives. Nowadays, online piracy of movies has been a major problem for the industry people. This is creating utterly chaotic conditions among the movie makers. Sometimes, they are thinking about change of their profession. If it really happens, there won't be any film industry in future. Having understood the necessity and the moral responsibility of controlling the piracy, some of the enthusiastic fans of pawan kalyan are coming forward to offer their helping hand to the movie, 'Dammu'. If you find out any online piracy of 'Dammu', you can contact piracy control legal cell with the help of pawan kalyan's fans. Hope, the fans of all the heroes should come forward to control the piracy of the movies to be released in future.

Racha & Dammu @ A boon or curse for Industry?

Half-baked films 'Racha' and 'Dammu' turned into money spinners! Should we feel happy for the crowd pulling factor of our stars (or) blame the audience for their poor taste? Where the Tollywood is heading towards? Is this a good sign for the Industry or a curse?
The difference between a failure and a success is doing a thing nearly right and doing a thing exactly right. But looking at the success of Racha & Dammu, this famous quote looks entirely impractical. "It's once again proven with 'Racha' and 'Dammu' that a Tollywood film with all the commercial elements will end up making profits in most of the cases, despite having multiple noticeable flaws in it. Encouraging such films is noting but giving license to the filmmakers to make films with poor script. In a way that reflects the degrading standards," opines a film analyst.
Well, there is also a positive side to it. As the good thing about a successful film is that it's the bread and butter of many, starting from print dispatchers to canteen and parking maintainers in theaters. Kudos to Tollywood and the film lovers for making this happen!

NTR @ hits back at Opponents and Critics

Young Tiger NTR gave a fitting reply to his opponents and critics who has given thumbs down to his recent action entertainer 'Dammu'. Notably, the actor didn't use his exceptional oratory skills for this, but only his stamina at the Box Office.
According to the producer, Dammu raked in a staggering Rs. 24 crores share in AP and a overall share of Rs. 31 crores for the first 7 days. With a gross of Rs 40-plus crores, the film has managed to collect it's entire investment in the first week itself and the profits will follow in the second week. Despite mixed talk affect, Dammu managed to score decent collections and stood among top 3 in first week collections.
As there is no competition for another one week, Dammu will make decent profits for all of its exhibitors and distributors. The success of Dammu will give a much needed career boost for NTR, who wasn't in his best form last year.

GabbarSingh @ mania on Twitter

The clock is ticking for the most talked about movie of the season to take the litmus test. Fact of the matter is, two films 'Racha' and 'Dammu' came in with huge hype but Dammu didn't really meet the expectations of the audience and Racha succeeded upto some extent. But this one is something different.
We are talking about the film 'Gabbar Singh' and like never before discussions are happening in Twitter and other social networking sites. This is an indicator for a high expectation movie and the strong opinion is that it will be a huge entertaining commercial cinema.
Due to the mania being created and the Pawan Kalyan frenzy, if the film drops anywhere in its voltage graph it will be trouble. So let us hope it is maintained from the start of the film till its end. This is directed by Harish Shankar and it has the seductive beauty Shruti Haasan in the lead.

Dammu @ keeps Rajamouli on Top

The unique respect rajamouli maintains in entire South is his unbeaten nature with no failures faced till today. Reason is simple. He can very well judge the pulse of common audience and can build emotions in his films accordingly thus keeping audience engrossed and excited. Meanwhile, just before the release of ‘Dammu,’ we have seen Boyapati Srinu projected and ranked similarly with Jakkanna for his hat-trick successes of ‘Bhadra, Tulasi & Simha.’ On the audio launch stage of ‘Dammu,’ we can remind the words from rajamouli on his dreamy visualization of picturizing the ‘Ruler’ song. Forget Jakkanna’s fantasy, unfortunately Boyapati could not reach even the expectations of common audience for the ‘Ruler’ song which left many of the film pundits worried going doubtful on his exact caliber. They say that, Keeravani has mistakenly composed ‘Ruler’ for Boyapati, if it would have been for any of rajamouli’s future film…we can imagine the grandeur carving in hands of this Amara Shilpi. Definitely, ‘Dammu’ re-approved rajamouli as still the No.1 Director of Tollywood and no one can share his seat on Top.

NTR Dammu @ Success Meet - Photos

Dammu @ beats 'Rachcha' by Good Margin

Along with Andhra Pradesh, our neighboring Karnataka has become a good ground of business for Telugu films. With Karnataka Film Chamber lifting the norms on limited number of screens for other language films, dammu had a massive release and Junior NTR is performing extraordinarily all over the state. As per the reports from our trade sources, Ramcharans Rachcha collected nearly Rs.2 Crores in first week is the record which is now washed away by Junior NTRs dammu crossing the mark in just five days. Yes, due to Labor Holiday of Tuesday (yesterday) due to May Day, collections of dammu were rock stable thus helping Tarak to beat Charan by a good margin. By the end of first week, no surprises even if dammu lands some where in between Rs.2.5-2.75 Crores alone in Karnataka. That is the Star Power of NTR for you folks…!

Future looks @ bright for NTR

Well, Dammu opened well at the box office, but it is performing well below the expectations. It is likely to face problems from sixth day as the initial hype is gone now. Even though Dammu can hold its ground for another week or so, then it will have to make way for the next biggie Gabbar Singh. Buyers of Dammu will have to recover their investment in the meantime and it seems highly impossible with this talk.
However, NTR fans or the star himself need not worry too much about Dammu's under par show. Why because the actor's lineup of films look bright and promising. Srinu Vailta's Badshah is NTR's immediate release after Dammu. We all know that Vaitla is a director with special skills. He always blends the hero's image with his style of entertainment and delivers minimum guarantee films. As pet the buzz, Badshah story has shaped up really well.
After Badshah, NTR has a film each with Puri Jagan and Trivikram. Both the directors are known for making films according to the strengths of the actors. Although Puri made a flop called Andhrawala with NTR, he is looking forward to settle the scores with a big hit. Trivikram on the other hand explores the funny side of actors and highlights their comedy angle in a brilliant fashion. Also these directors have a good following among the family audiences and class sections too. That will come in handy for NTR to expand his range as a star.

NTR-RamCharan @ Multistarrer??

Lately, a lot is being spoken about the buddying of Ram Charan and Junior NTR. Given the kind of fights that the fans of these heroes have, their friendship has created a new chapter in the Tollywood circuit. And it also seems to have given a new idea of a film to one prestigious banner. We are talking about the famous R R Moviemakers banner and it is heard that given the way both have been moving around and hanging out, the R R Moviemakers are keen on coming up with a film starring both. As it is, the banner is very well known for publicizing movies grandly. With films like ‘Seetamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ opening the gates for multi-starrers, it could well be that having NTR and Charan sharing the screen space will create a major hysteria among the cine buffs. And R R Moviemakers have the required potential to pull this impossible project successfully. Let us hope it works.

Without Jr.NTR @ No N-Vamsham in Tollywood

As of now, we have seen many heroes and actors from Nandamuri compound like, late ntr, Harikrishna, Balakrishna, Kalyana Chakravarthi, Jr.ntr, Kalyan Ram, Taraka Ratna etc. Currently, four heroes from their compound are doing movies regularly and they are Balakrishna, Jr.ntr, Kalyan Ram and Tarakaratna. However, most of the anti fans and of course, some of the Nandamuri fans are considering Balakrishna as the senior citizen of tollywood based on his age factor. Incidentally, Balayya too, is interested to join active politics soon. Considering all these reasons, Balayya will no more be a hero in near future. As far as Kalyan Ram and Tarakaratna are concerned, they are simply, 'dummies', say Nandamuri fans themselves. Last but not the least, Young Tiger ntr seems to be the only ray of hope for Nandamuri fans in tollywood in the future. It has been a proven fact that ntr has got mastery over his acting skills. There are many people who believe in the fact that Jr.ntr stands only next after late ntr among all other Nandamuri heroes in terms of extraordinary acting skills. Currently, his 'Dammu' is rocking all over the state despite its poor talk.

NTR @ Is The Best!

NTR is showing his power at the box office with Dammu yet again. He has been shaking the box office with divide talk and average reviews. Dammu managed to collect over 13.5 crore rupees in first three days and that too in AP alone. Besides it has done well in the first weekend in Karnataka too. It is too early to say if Dammu reaches safe zone or not as the talk is still not so encouraging.
Keeping commercial outcome of Dammu aside, one thing is pretty clear with this movie. NTR is the best performer among the current crop of actors. He is extremely brilliant in emotional scenes. No one comes close to him in this aspect. He is very good at mouthing powerful dialogues. None others can beat him in this department.
NTR is improving with comedy timing and is decent in romantic scenes. He is a pretty good dancer and fights so naturally. There is raw power in his fights. All in all NTR is a complete actor and Dammu once again proves a point to his critics. He should have won at least two Nandi awards by now. Somehow he has been missing to bag the best actor award despite superb performances. Hope Dammu fetches him his first Nandi as the best actor.

One more challenge for NTR!

We have been discussing about NTR Junior's declining power of dances. Dammu movie proved that NTR is not the best anymore for whatever the reason be! NTR will have to come up with the best to compete with Allu Arjun, who is sitting pretty on top. Even Ram Charan fluid dance moves are setting the temperatures high.
At this point one more challenge is thrown at the young tiger. It is from the little yet energetic hero Ram. This hero is one of the best dancers in Tollywood now. He is putting in extra efforts like Bunny and is trying to introduce new dance moves to Telugu audience. In his upcoming film Endukante Premanta, Ram has done few sensational dances which would give any top dancer run for their money.
A slickly cut song teaser itself had many scintillating dance moves of Ram. He promises his fans a dance treat with this movie. It is high time for Tarak to realize the fact that his fans are going restless to see their matinee idol dancing like a live wire. Tarak, wake up before the competition gets tough and tougher.

Who cares @ 'Dammu' Reviews!?

Although critics and reviewers usually belittle mass films with poor ratings and adverse backbites, our Telugu audience always adored these kinds of flicks majority of times. When it comes to presence of big heroes like junior ntr or Ramcharan, obviously the success rate gets further brighter. Recent example of ‘Dammu’ throws more light on the strength of a Telugu mass masala film. In spite of disheartening reviews and divided mouth talk reported on first day, now fresh reports from overseas, Nizam area and few centers in Coastal Andhra are proving of ‘Dammu’ being set to play a long innings creating new industry records. One of our close US trade sources was happy to share that, many of the exhibitors in overseas are getting near to breakeven with in the first week and ‘Dammu’ might even offer them profits. This is good news. Coming to domestic market, we have heard of Dil Raju already added more theatres in Nizam area looking at the response from audience. As per our reports, same applies for theatres in Kakinada, Bhimavaram where housefuls have become quite common for ‘Dammu.’ So, Nandamuri Fans are flying their collars saying, ‘When it is junior ntr on the screen…who cares for reviews?’
