Ram Charan - Allu Arjun film happening finally!!

Few months ago there was a strong talk about mega powerstar Ram charan Tej teaming up with his favourite cousin Allu Arjun for a new movie. Though not much was spoken after that, here is an update. The talk in the cine circuits is that the dream combo is likely to happen soon.

Sources say that Ramcharan's new project which would be directed by Vamsi Paidipally will have Bunny in it. However, the inside talk is that he would be seen in a cameo and not in a full length role. The film is being produced by Dil Raju and right now, the script is being given the final touches.

Those who heard this say this is indeed going to be a wonderful combo even if Bunny has got a cameo in it. As such, Charan has been eyeing for a big hit and soon he will be seen with his 'Rachcha'. What many are waiting to see is who will be Charan's leading lady in Vamsi's project.

The film had the largest worldwide opening for a Telugu film, releasing globally in 1600 screens, including 71 screens in Hyderabad, India. It also shattered records by releasing in 15 screens in Chennai and 79 theaters in the United States, the highest ever for a Telugu film in both the cases. The satellite rights of the film were sold to MAA TV for INR 5.4 crore.

It also became the first Telugu film to release in Botswana and was opened in a single screen with one show by the Telugu Association of Botswana. Further, it was released in Netherlands, Germany, South Africa and Dubai, the first for a Telugu film, and in regular overseas markets like Singapore, Malaysia and UK, making it the biggest overseas release for a Telugu film as well. The producers of the film approached the high court for a John Doe order to prevent piracy of the film.

CNN-IBN gave three and half stars said "Dookudu is a treat for Mahesh's fans. But others can also enjoy this film for its comedy elements and Mahesh's powerful presence." The Times Of India also gave a three and half rating noted ""Dookudu" is a typical Srinu Vytla film with a generous sprinkling of comedy. His narrative manages to keep the audience engaged until the end of the movie." Deccan Chronicle rated three stars commented "Although, it is a tale of a honest cop who is on the trail of a dreaded don, director Sinu Vaitla relies on a band of comedians like Brahmanandam and M.S. Narayana to sustain audience interests, before his protagonist accomplishes his mission."

Sify praised the lead performances writing "Mahesh Babu`s role, particularly in the action episodes, rocks." NDTV stated "Mahesh Babu's style, dialogues and his fight sequences are a plus. Samantha Ruth Prabhu is largely an eye-candy in the film. Despite the star cast, the film's biggest flaw is the weak screenplay and several illogical sequences". Venkat of Greatandhra.com said "Overall, the film has the right ingredients to appeal the family audience and though most of it is expected, it is the pace and ability with which the audience is engaged and the entertainment value they get."

On the other hand, the film also received some mixed and negative reviews from other critics. Pavithra Srinivasan of Rediff gave it 2.5 out of 5 and criticized the film's screenplay and logic-defying sequences, while praising the performance of Mahesh Babu, calling his role a "cakewalk" and recommending the film for his fans in particular. Prakash of Oneindia.in said "To sum up, Dookudu is just another average entertainer and not in the same league as Mahesh Babu’s earlier blockbusters like Athadu and Pokiri."Haricharan Pudipeddi of nowrunning.com said "Mahesh shines in Dookudu but movie falls short." giving it 3 out of 5 stars.

The film had the largest opening for a Telugu film and collected a share of INR10.11 crores and gross of INR12.58 crores on the first day of its release. It collected a share of INR35.01 crores and grossed INR50 crores in its first week. After two weeks, it grossed INR70 crores. The movie crossed the million dollar mark in USA and grossed INR1.5 crores within two days in UK, Australia, Dubai and Canada.

Tamanna eyes Mahesh Babu

The sexy milk white beauty tamanna is now on a roller coaster ride. She has come back to Telugu after a brief gap and has acted in quite a number of films. tamanna’s role in Naga Chaitanya’s 100% Love was highly appreciated. She also acted in Allu Arjun’s Badrinath.

tamanna later acted in the recently released Jr.NTR film Oosaravelli. She impressed everyone with her acting skills in the film.tamanna is now keen to work with prince Mahesh Babu. She is in touch with director Sukumar. He is planning a film with Mahesh to be made on the 14 Reels Entertainment banner. The film is expected to go on the sets early next year.

We all know that prince mahesh babu acted as a MLA in the film Dookudu to please his father who was also a MLA. Now young tiger Jr.NTR too is all set to act as MLA in a film titled ‘MLA’. The tagline of the film is ‘Manchi Lakshanalu unna Abbayi’.

Harish Shankar will direct the film. Harish will first complete Gabbar Singh of Pawan Kalyan and later begin work on MLA. Kodali Nani and Vallabhaneni Vamsi will produce the film. An official announcement on the star cast and other crew is awaited.

Shweta Bharadwaj charges a bomb for Mahesh film

Super Star Mahesh Babu’s latest film The Businessman is currently shooting in Spain where the director is canning a couple of songs on the lead pair. The movie is an action thriller which revolves around illegal arm trafficking.

Bollywood actress Shweta Bharadwaj who made her debut with Mission Istanbul is doing an item song in this film. Reportedly, the actress has charged Rs 50 lakh as remuneration for sizzling in this song. The special song will be shot soon on Mahesh and Shweta soon after the unit returns from Spain.


The Business Man is slated to hit the screens on January 11.

NTR getting BP for Dammu

Young tiger NTR Junior is often known for his energetic talks and his hot blooded performances onscreen. Even off the screen, many say he has a lot of energy and is quite bubbly with his close set of friends. Now, it is heard that Junior is getting BP for his new movie 'Dammu'.

Well, the BP is not Blood Pressure. This BP is Bhanu Priya. Yes, the talented and elegant actress has been roped in for 'Dammu' and sources say she would be essaying the role of NTR's mother. While it is not sure from where director Boyapati Sreenu got the idea of taking Bhanupriya, many say she is an apt choice.

Some are also saying that there could be a sentiment behind this. Bhanupriya was seen as the mother of Prabhas in 'Chatrapati' and that film became a blockbuster hit. Hence, she was taken for 'Dammu'. Whatever it is, let us hope the chemistry between BP and Junior depict the mother-son bonding very strongly.

Ram Charan @ his Best

Fans believe that Megastar's son Ram Charan will be the future megastar and has the capacity to register many more big hits like Magadheera. We have to wait for another couple of years to see how Ram Charan would plan his career and live up to fans expectations.

For now he has come a long way regarding his looks. Ram Charan is definitely growing as an actor with each film but the definite striking factor is his good looks. Charan was not a best looker in his teens as many of his photographs from the past would suggest.

He was not at his best in Chiruta and Magadheera too. He added some style to his appearance in Orange and still there were some shots in which he looked average at best. Ram Charan engagement Venue Changed

It's official that, Mega Powerstar Ram Charan's and Upasana Kamineni are getting engaged on December 1st.

However, the venue for the engagement has been changed and it's surely not gonna take place at the much hyped Domakonda fort. The reason behind this is, the fort which has been built in the 18th Century is still under renovation. Though it was expected to be in shape by the time of engagement, due to some reasons the work got delayed and eventually both the families have been in a situation to choose other venue.

Upasana's forefathers were Domakonda Samsthan rulers and her grand-father Umapathi Rao is the official owner of Domakonda fort. As the fort was built long time back, it's been a tough task and a time consuming one to make it available for the event.

Now, the venue has been shifted to Prathap C Reddy's farmhouse near Chilukur which is getting ready to host the grand gala event. Whatever may be the reason, Ram Charan and Upasana missed the chance to get engaged in the historical fort. Let's hope the new venue is nothing less than Domakonda!!!

kajal Loss @ Trisha Gain

The last few days have been abuzz with the news of Shruti Hassan walking out of Jr NTR's 'Dammu' and who would be her correct replacement? Though Kajal was the initial choice for the role, the makers of the film have finally zeroed in on Trisha.

According to the sources, director Boyapati Seenu has approached Kajal and she has agreed to do the film. But due to some issues, the makers have opted to go for another heroine now and thus Trisha came into the picture. Notably, Trisha is pairing opposite NTR for the first time and she will join the shoot of 'Dammu' from October 27th.

Actually, Trisha was to act with NTR in 'Brindavanam'. But, she couldn't adjust her dates and the role has been offered to Kajal. Trisha's loss is Kajal's gain and vice versa. Let's see how this new pairing works!

RA.One collects @ 25 crores on second day

The mixed initial responses to 'RA.One' seem to have no effect on the business of the film, which soared on October 27, a day after the grand release of the film in more than 3500 screens.

Renowned trade analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted that the film has grossed around Rs 18.5 crore in India on the second day after its release.

The film has garnered around Rs 6.5 crore from the overseas market also which makes the total earning Rs 25 crore.

The overseas markets have emerged as good business options since some years. Some recent films actually recovered a major part of their cost from these markets only. 'My Name Is Khan' was one such film which was just a moderate success in India but a big hit overseas. Siilarly, Mahesh Babu's 'Dookudu' had done good business in foreign markets.
