Prince and superstar Mahesh Babu has been declared as Tollywood’s No. 1 hero, according to a survey by a corporate. The findings of the survey say that being No.1 is only a formality for Mahesh Babu as his popularity has gone to nationwide. So is he the No.1 Tollywood hero after Megastar Chiranjeevi?
What works in favor of Mahesh Babu?
Well, Mahesh is the only hero to have bagged 3 films, which have engrossed more than 40 crores (Pokiri, Dookudu and Businessman) within a short time. He has also scored back to back hits (Dookudu and Businessman) after a three years hiatus and also leads Tollywood business for Overseas and Nizam areas. And that’s not all; Mahesh Babu is also South India’s No. 1 brand ambassador with more than 10 endorsements.
Chiranjeevi was able to garner great following amongst the classes and masses. In fact, even an average movie was able to score big success only due to Chiru’s unparalleled charisma. After Chiranjeevi, people are seeing these two significant traits now in Mahesh Babu.
Jr. NTR, Pawan Kalyan and Ram Charan
At one stage it was predicted that Jr. NTR would become Tollywood’s No. 1 hero. His was able to pull the masses with attractive speech in his campaign for TDP during the 2009 elections. He scored successive hits in 2010 with Adhurs and Brindavanam and was ruling the roost. However, NTR took a backseat with flops like Shakti and Oosaravelli. Even Pawan Kalyan, a youth icon at one stage, is struggling to score a blockbuster. Ram Charan, who took the Indian Cinema by storm with ‘Magadheera’ is unable to come to the terms. So with all his contemporary heroes’ failing to taste a runaway success in the recent times, Mahesh Babu stood head and shoulders above the rest and made him unarguably the No.1 Tollywood hero.
