With back to back blockbusters Dookudu and Businessman, Mahesh Babu is arguably holding the top slot. Not just in terms of fan following but the kind of success he generates at the box office with his movies is mindblowing. Now, it is heard that he has set another record.
News is that Mahesh has signed a new movie with the mass hit director Boyapati Srinu and here is the byte. It is heard that Mahesh is getting a whopping Rs 15 crores as remuneration for this one. This is being produced by Burugupalli Sivaramakrishna and sources say the title is likely to be 'Ruler'.
If this news is true then Mahesh has created a new record in Tollywood history and he has also become the highest paid actor in the industry. With Mahesh at his peak of success and Boyapati scoring nonstop hits, one can imagine the fireworks and hysteria when both of them team up for a project.
The most important aspect for any film industry is the heroine and even for the success of a film, the glamour quotient of the leading lady is crucial. That is why a lot of importance and thinking goes while finalizing a heroine for a project. Recently, a list was revealed which showed the highest and lowest paid actresses in the top league.
First in the list are the awesome beauty Anushka and the gracious beauty Nayantara. It is heard that they charge a whopping Rs 1.15 crores per film. The likes of the saucy seductress Kajal Agarwal, sexy hip beauty Ileana and the milky white beauty Tamannah are charging around Rs 1 crore per film.
The third layer of heroines comprises of the petite beauty Trisha and the lovely smile beauty Samantha who are reportedly charging around Rs 80 lakhs per film. The likes of Shruti Haasan and Taapsee are also being considered and they are charging around Rs 50 lakhs to Rs 60 lakhs, as per sources.
NTR, ANR, Krishna and Sobhan Babu are the first generation superstars of Telugu cinema. After them Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh stood pillars to the second generation. They are no longer young and strong enough to compete with the younger generation. So the new top four has evolved. Considering the current business craze of the heroes, here are the top four of Tollywood.

Rajamouli is now all set to come up with his 'Eega' very soon. Likewise, Prabhas is also going to rock the silver screen with his 'Rebel' in no time. According to grapevine in Film Nagar, both are worried that they are not delivering some back to back movies. Rajamouli got late once again with 'Eega' and Prabhas took almost a year for 'Rebel'. Buzz is that, this director and hero wants to do a fast project after the release of their current ventures.
That is possible only if Rajamouli picks a new team and new subject, while Prabhas finds a director like Puri to wrap a quickie keeping his image in mind. After doing one such movie, both are planning to associate for their epic movie scheduled, says a source. Only Rajamouli and Prabhas can reveal the real truth.
Much before the release of Junior NTR’s ‘Dammu’ or much earlier than audience enjoying the song of ‘Ruler…’ on the big screen, this single word is creating ripples in film industry. We do know that, producer Burugupalli Siva Rama Krishna has registered the title of ‘Ruler’ for mahesh babu and the same will be directed by Boyapati Srinu. Apparently, an official confirmation is still to be made but here comes un-official news of mahesh babu being offered Rs.15 Crores as remuneration for this flick.
This number is a new sensation in film circles because till now Junior NTR’s payment for an upcoming venture of Creative Commercials (KS Rama Rao) is treated as the highest. Obviously, the winning track of mahesh babu inclusive of ‘Dookudu, Businessman’ and upcoming multi star project of ‘SVSC’ could have made ‘Daruvu’ producer to go on Prince’s grown up image and expanded market. This would give Prince Fans a new josh.
Dammu Censor Report: NTR's forthcoming movie 'Dammu' has completed censor and obtained A certificate by the authorities. The movie is gearing up for massive release on April 27 worldwide with highest number of prints in Jr NTR's career. Alexander Vallabha has produced the movie on Creative Commercials banner. Trisha, Karthika are playing female leads in Dammu which is being directed by Boyapati Sreenu. The film also stars Suman, Venu, Bhanupriya, Kota Srinivasa Rao, etc in pivotal roles. MM Keeravani has scored the music.
