Till sometime back, it was being mentioned that the Sankranthi 2012 festival is going to be a major traffic jam for Tollywood. A long list of movies was slated for release and all of them are big ticket flicks. However, a new update has arrived and this seems to be clearing some congestion.Buzz is that Mahesh Babu’s ‘Businessman’ seems to be the only contender in Sankranthi race. Apparently, the talk in filmnagar is Balayya’s ‘Adhinayakudu’ and Ravi Teja’s ‘Nippu’ is getting postponed for January 26th. The other possibility is that Sunil’s ‘Poolarangadu’ may go to January 18th but not confirmed.There is also a talk that Venky’s ‘Bodyguard’ is planning for a release on January19th, for now it is 12th. If all this is true then only ‘Businessman’ will be the sole runner and it will make good profits but cine folks say that even if ‘Bodyguard’ comes then also scores will come for Mahesh only because many have already seen ‘Bodyguard’ in Hindi. Let us see what happens.
Pawan Kalyan's Panjaa has been receiving mostly negative reviews and the collections in B and C centers on the second day have shown a notable dip. So it will be tough for this film to pull off a success from here. Few fans firmly believe that this film could withstand all the negative talk and hold its ground in the coming days.However, chances are very bleak for Panjaa to evade the entire negative buzz surrounding it. Pawan Kalyan's stubborn ways of sticking with Tamil directors has been showing adverse affects on his career graph and with Panjaa's failure his star power is going to take severe beating.One of the reasons for Pawan Kalyan's failures in the recent past is the choice of heroines. Except Jalsa, none of his recent movies had a crazy heroine in the lead. Even Trisha was considered outdated while she was roped in for Teen Maar. Puli heroine Nikesha and Panjaa heroines are pretty bad choice for a star of Pawan's caliber. Heroine's role in a film's success is minimal most of the times, but a lovable face could add to the film's fortunes. Pawan Kalyan and his producers should give a serious thought to this.
Just when many were expecting a clash at the box office between the big heroes Nandamuri Balakrishna and Mahesh Babu, a change seems to have occurred. Ideally, this was to happen during the Sankranthi 2012 festival as Balayya was to arrive with 'Adhinayakudu' and Mahesh with 'Businessman'.However, the latest update is that 'Adhinayakudu' is likely to get postponed and it would be hitting the screens during the last week of January 2012. The reasons for the postponement are not revealed yet. However, some say that nothing has been decided officially so far.The cine folks say "It is not about competition. It is about profit sharing and business. If two big heroes come up with their films at the same time, both will end up with losses. It is better that they give space to each other. That would be a win-win situation for all." Let us see how the Nandamuri fans react to this.

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan's latest outing Panjaa has set the cash registers ringing at the Box Office, despite the initial negative talk. As per the trade reports, the opening weakend collections has been phenomenal.However, the makers of Panjaa were reluctant to reveal the revenue Panjaa has generated."We have seen in the recent past that the statements about the collections have created controversies. We don't want to create any rifts. Powerstar is against such things. Everyone knows the stamina of Pawan Kalyan and the buyers will recover the costs very soon. We are very happy about the National Media appreciation," said the makers of Panjaa.Acclaimed directors Rajamouli and Krish who attended the screening of Panjaa recently, were raving about Pawan Kalyan, Vishuvardhan's stylish taking and production values."Panjaa is a must watch. It is a Pawan Kalyan film all the way - his elegance, dialogue delivery and action sequences are a treat to watch," IBN Review."Telugu film Panjaa packs a solid punch in its opening weekend in the US," said Taran Adarsh, Bollywood trade analyst.After the initial negative talk, compliments were pouring in from everwhere for making a cult classic.
